If there is a sequel, I pray that they fix the coding.  It is the ONLY game that my PS3 has frozen on - at the hexagonal loading screen, 5-6 times.

Beating that game was a chore.

My t.v. is 1200:1 contrast ration with a 6ms response time.  32".  Got it for a really nice price too - check out Tiger Direct.  Love the picture.  Compared it to a lot of other t.v.s in a lot of different shops and finally settled on it (great price/ performance ratio). It's an Insignia: Komodo, if anyone cares.

Enchanted Arms (kinda fun, but the 5 or so freezes ruined it for me; ONLY game that's ever done that too).  Oh, and I didn't find Oblivion to be anything special.  Just a fantasy FPS really.  And while it supposedly sports "advanced graphic techniques" and whatnot, the implimentation, creativity and design of those graphics are seriously lacking.  Everyone is arse-ugly in the game and the monsters and locales seem generally unispired to me.  I played 60+ hours on it to see if it got any better and it didn't, sigh.  And the slowdown was annoying too. Strangely, I never experienced a crash (which any version of this game is notorious for).

Don't tear my head off, it's just MY opinion.  We are all entitled to our own.

Cheers,

Do what the last gentleman said.  Boot it with both cables connected (composite and hdmi), the go to display settings and switch over to hdmi. Oh, and  make sure that you don't use "monster" brand hdmi - they don't work.

good for you. we don't care. just for god of war? ratchet and clank, resistance, motorstorm, gran turismo, final fantasy xiii and vs, uncharted, heavenly sword, ninja gaiden sigma, god of war, socom, jak and daxter, killzone and LBP are pretty much a lock for the ps3. MGS4 will most likely too, but its probably the most likely to go multiplat out of the bunch i listed, and even MGS4 is VERY likely to remain a ps3 exclusive. not to mention the ps3 is far more reliable, has more potential, and is a better all around multimedia/multi-functional machine. bottom line is, anyone who is unfortunate to only have one of the 3 systems will miss out on something great, ps3 owners included.rahzel54

Nicely put, Razhel54.

Oh, and "Doctor Xbox" is it?  I'm sure that your medical background comes in handy when resuccitating your Xbox from it's red-ring coronary attacks.

Cheers for MS quality control.  And take your posts to system wars next time, please.

Yes, we most certainly need better graphics.  Let's look at the term: "video" game.  It implies an audio/ visual experience.  As the art - of gaming - evolves, much like film, we should expect larger budgets, greater scope and visual effects than were possible before.

That's what separates the old "King Kong" movie from the new one.  Without the auditory/ visual experience, we might as well be reading a book.  Don't get me wrong, I love to read, but I don't understand the point of investing in gaming for a sub-par experience.  Coincidentally, this is why I have an aversion to the Wii.  Graphics do matter.  Think old King Kong and new. Rent the two and compare if you need to understand my analogy better. While Faye Ray was kinda hot, that's about all the movie has going for itself.  It has none of the compassion, engrossing storyline or atmosphere (generated signifigantly by CGI) of the most recent remake (there were a few more iterations of Kong over the years, but let's not talk about them).

Graphics do matter.  Death to the Wii.

Cheers,

Sorry if this is old, but it's a G4 interview with Julian about Lair.

The more I hear about this game, the more my interest is peaked.  Especially when I hear about the depth of the story-line and the over-arching religious/ environmental conflict; probably handled in a slightly less cheesy way than most JRPGS (don't get me wrong, I love my JRPGS, but they can get a little ridiculous at times).

best thing i ever did is exchange mt ps3 for a 360 elite and 2 games. not saying that the ps3 aint good, i will get it, as soon as there is enough games that "I LIKE". I have been playing non-stop for 3 days GOW, GRAW2, COD 2, and 3, Rainbow 6 vegas, and i rented lost planet.

The lack of games made my desicion, I will wait and see what Gta 4 has to offer and if it is even slightly better on PS3 (which i believe it will) I will get the ps3 late this year or early next.

getboth

Gears of War is an 8 hour romp at most, and that's if you really stretch it.  Oh, and Lost Planet has an atrocious story and voice work and people really only play it for the enemies that look like vag*nas.  I never understood that game.  Give me Enchanted Arms, Oblivion, Resistance, Motorstorm, God of War 2, and the HUGE library of PS2 RPGs anyday.  Saying that the 360 has more games is a flat out misconception.  You have 300 or so from the original Xbox and another 150 or so from this gen.  The PS3 has 2000 or so, plus this generations games.   Oh, and most of the games that you mentioned in your list are available on the PS3 as well, or will be very soon.

This generation seems freakishly fanboyish and impatient.  If you find yourself burning through all these games in a matter of weeks, get a job, or a girlfriend or a dog or something.  It's almost summer for Chris*sakes, you should be out there enjoying the weather not inside getting palid and frantic and worried about "games".

Just my two cents,

- Cheers

I answered "no".  Games are each such a matter of individual opinion that listening to someone else's (a reviewer, for example), really doesn't hold much water to me.  For example, I liked Genji, and bought it anyway.  Had a good 20 hour romp with Untold Legends too.  Most people would tell me that I wasted my time/ money on each of those titles. Honestly, I could care less for someone's opinion as they are not playing the game, I am.
