About the character importer bug: If you import a character retaining his/her face from ME 1, ME 3's importer won't be able to read it. This is because ME 1's character creation used sliders exclusively. ME 2 introduced face codes. ME 3 uses face codes too, so it can read a face that was created/tweaked in ME 2. It can't read an ME 1 face because it doesn't use the same sliders. I'm kinda disappointed BIoware didn't at least make an effort to come up with a workaround for this :\
This piece of writing best articulates why I personally was unsatisfied with ME 3's ending: http://www.themetagames.com/2012/03/why-you-enjoy-art-and-one-problem-with.html Be warned, though. It's quite the long read.
I certainly haven't forgotten. Sure, I enjoy the thrill of competition when I play BF 3 online, but I still get upset when I see images that cover casualties of war because I can distinguish between real people going through real suffering and a computer generated model.
