[QUOTE="DaddyDC650"]The company eventually tried to expand into traditional film by releasing Final Fantasy Spirits Within in theaters. With a plot that was perhaps too cerebral for mass audience at the time, the movie actually made its mark in history with its visuals.Idonomeus

Too cerebral? The plot was terrible and there have been plenty of "dry" movies that have been hits in the past.

the problem with spirits within was the basic plot and premise was waay too simple yet some of the ideas and material held within the plot were too complex for most of the audience so its plot turned off the smarter members of the audience and the comcepts presented were too complex. It tried top appeal to more people but turned off more in the end

while the gameplay may not be superior I'm sure the cinemas will be superior to any holywood CGI. Square has been setting the bar in CGI for years(with honorable mentions to blizzard and namco). PIxar is hirrbly overrated talentwise when it comes to CGI in the hollywood commuinty they may be the best but we gamers have been seeing better quality stuff for years.

even though the original was gear vs resistance guys. It has been dominated by mostly MC vs Snake responses so heres my opinion.

Snake would win simply because he has the experience and the training. I mean yeah MC takes on hundreds of covenant but they are merely average soldiers snake has fought the elite of the elite, he has the smarts to find MC weakness and exploit it thats what he always does no matter what he comes up against. I mean snake would probably get MC before he even see him thats what snake does sure if its a one on one fight MC abilities and armour would give him the advantage but if we are taking all the charcter assets snakes stealth ability is unmatched by anyone in the videogame universe including sam fisher. I mean sam is good but snake infiltarates entire bases/fortresses alone takes out who he needs and destorys the metal gear usually starting out unarmefd or with a pistol and no armour/shield.

It comes down to MC can pretty much kill anything he sees but what if he doesn't see it? Thats why I give the edge to snake.

I would ask moore how he screwed up the DC marketing. That system was amazing but the hype was zero after launch. I would probably also ask him how working for MS was different than sega.

miyamoto I would ask what non- nitendo game he liked the most

Kutaragi I would askw hy he just doesn't let his product speak for itself cause everytime he tries to speak for it he gets bashed on misquotes or bad translation. He really needs to get a marketing firm to write his speaches his hardware vsion is great but his hyping of his hardware sucks.

well I like JRPG but people have overgeneralized some jrps give you a choice and can have multiple endings(going all the way to back to chrono trigger which had 15 albeit not all that different but they were diffewrent none the less). Star ocean 2 had lots of choice and possibilities to you ending. WRPGS don't have as well defined worlds but give you alot more chopice when it comes to how your character interacts with the world whereas JRPS give you a deep world with often lots of myths and unique characters to interact with whether they are part of the main storyline or not. WRPGs world populous have alot less charcter to them except plot specific charcters.

In JRPG the satisfaction comes from learning and exploring the world and mastering it. collecting all the weapons doing all the sidequests to get everything and have you party maxed to the limit.

In WRPG the satisfaction comes from making your charcter at the end be what you wanted. In wrpgs often depending on your alignment you cannot do certain quests or attain certain items a consequnce of your choices but part of the appeal to those who want that sort of thing.

I have too often seen the argument that WRPGS are more hardcore and that JRPS are for "anime" freaks who want their hand held throught the game. Both have different types of pacing and will appeal to different gamestyles. No one choices is hardcore over the other. I mean there are hardcore games in each genre like the elder scrolls games for WRPGs or something like the star ocean games for JRPGS. I like both but prefer JRPGS because the stories hold more involvemnet and its easy to keep motivated to see whats going to happen. It comes down to I will probably play more JRPGS overall but if I like I WRPG I will invest alot of time into it to mold my charcter to my liking than I would invest in the typical jrpg

I was just think I wonder if this game will appeal to the huge socom community out there. the socom series was one of the most played copnsole online games last gen if sony can briong them to next gen it could definately sell a few systems. It has many of the same qualitys of the socom series except with less realism and more vehicles.

game looks great. I mean I have been excited about the warhawk game ever since it was announced. Looks to be really great multiplayer experience.I liked hearing about the warhawk mode too being in there meaning you can play warhawk only matches for the people who just want to dogfight. I won't go so far as to hype it AAA but it will definately be a game that is totally unique to the ps3 network(I know it shares the same idea as battlefield but the implimentation and gameplay balance is totally different). WOnder how 360 fans will try to downplay how good this game could be.

[QUOTE="Boba_Fett_3710"][QUOTE="AnimeXas"][QUOTE="Boba_Fett_3710"][QUOTE="Shu76"]If you want the best, you have got to pay for it! ardylicious
That's why PC is dominating, despite what console fanboys might believe.

uhh...PC dominating??? If you count the little kid games like put put saves the zoo mabey....

...or if you count all of the PC ports that go to 360 (that's right, child, xbox games were designed for PC first).

What ?? Like crackdown, Dead rising, Vegas?? I have 360 and a PC, and i can safetly say that i have great games on both. And no i woulden't buy Prey on 360 just like a woulden't buy Vegas on PC. But thats ok if you want endles Japanese RPG sequels with effeminate people for a story that is about as compelling as a smelly sock.. And yes you can praise your MGS4. How many re-hashes do you need? Infact Japanese developers are still in their arcade routes of yesteryear. Time to move on to a more varied console for gaming methinks.

you do realiza dead rising was made by a japanese developer......... I love how you use the rehash argument yet you use a rainbox six game which has had how many sequels and expansions(at least 5 by my count). Also I hate how people like you who don't even play the games judge japanese rpgs by bashing character designs ands stories you haven't even experienced in full. what you and the TC don't realize is sony is the reason the games industry has grown so much by creating a casual fanbase that helps drive console sales by having such high install bases devs will try more ideas that may not have risked in the past because the potential market is much bigger games like guitar hero and katamari were successes because the ps2 had such a high fanbase that they were able to reach a sizable audience evenm though they were experimental games in nature.

what I fear happening is not so much sony becoming too successful but MS because MS doen't understand the dynamics of the industry they try to apply PC thinking to consoles and thus we would have shortened lifespans of consoles(essetially they have a whats good right now mentality they don't think ahead very much which is why the xbox only had a 4 year lifespan and why we are now seeing the elite 360 coming out they adapt but do not anticipate the changes in the industry). The 360 and xbox were and are great systems but I feel MS becoming the leader by a wide margin in any gen would be worse than sony winning again. every gen sony have won the industry has grown. Complain about $600 pricetag now and lack of games but the fact is sony 's goal is to sell steadily over the entire lifespan and I have no doubt they will sell a hefty amount of ps3 when its all said and done they may not regain the lead but nobody will dominate this gen like they did last gen.

well I would rather spend $600 on a console that lasts 6+ years than buy a $400 console that last 4 years or less. Sony at least supports its older hardware after it launches its new console whereas Ms abandoned the xbox months before the 360 launched I mean besides a few 3rd party games in the mothes leading up to and after the 360 launch there was nothing released for the xbox. Ms effectively killed their console after less than 4 years(nov 2001-2005).
