Cant believe he actually said "Tekken sucks".I thought Japanese people were supposed to be polite

His jealousy of the tekken series is well documented I remember a few years back 1up interviewed him or had a feature with his favorite and most hated games his 5 most hated games were all tekken. The guy makes great games but DOA is not even half the fighter tekken is let alone VF yet he never mentions VF. Seriously though the more he bashes tekken the worse it makes him look I mean the fact tekken is a better scoreing series across the board and the better selling series shows that while he is entitled to his opinion most of the gaming public disagrees.

Well this is the thing you guys don't get, it doesn't matter if they have a competing product. It's the fact that the patent existed. There's the most widely known Windshield Wiper relay patent, from a guy who didn't have the intention of bringing to fruit. I'm talking about Horace R. Phillimore, remember when all the automakers got sued for infringing upon this patent. And now this guys family since he is dead now, are one of the wealthiest families in the states because of it, they still receive royalties from all the units still been made to this day. So it could turn out bad for them, and the patent office if Sony is found guilty of said charges.Fusible

I never said they needed a competing product I just said it would be a slam dunk case if they did. I was saying that the patent didn't clearly state the type of technology that it would impliment to acheive the results except its basic description how it would work the company hasn't brought forth any evidence besides the patent at least immersion had working designs in their case and thats where the big difference is between these to cases. I again point out where they are filing in Eastern District of Texas (Tyler Division) while their company is based in Newport Beach California. They obviously filed it there to gain some advantage because they know they have a shaky case as is. They may win this case but not because sony, ibm, or toshiba actually infringed on the patent as pointed out by another poster the patent office cited the original patent in the patent for the cell to show while similar that the patent for the cell was still unique enough to warrent its own patent. If they do win this case it will be because of the justice systems ease of bringing litigation against almost anybody under very flimsy alligations and the judges lack of technical knowledge.

The patent describes a a process but doesn't detail how exactly the process would be implemented unless they have some design documents or a prototype thats shows that the cell technology was stolen from them I don't really see them winning this case especially considering they don't have a product competing with the cell if that were the case it would be a slam dunk but all they have is a patent from 91. Not to mention the cell was no secret they started developing it like 5 years ago if they tech is so similar why didn't they aproach sony, toshiba and IBM from the beginning to license the technology to them instead they are trying to go for a bigger payoff by suing.

Another thing I would like to note is that it is highly suspicious is where they filed the lawsuit in a small texas district not to insult people from texas but I'm sure the judge there does not have alot of experience in technolgy infrigement cases so I feel they filed it there to maybe take advantage of that and maybe get a good lawyer who can make a good argument without relying on the technical specs which would probably not favour them instead relying on the wording of the patent and a vague description of the process trying to take advantage of the judges lack of experience in that department.

Either way I'm pulling for sony simply because I don't want a lazy company to win simply because they filed patent and have done nothing with it. It would only open the door for other companies to try similar things with big technology companies and MS fans with Microsofts history they would be a prime target so for once maybe you should hope sony wins something.

If they PS3 and the blue-ray is so great then why is 360 getting the exclusive downloadable episodic (sizeable) content. Eltroz

Simple MS paid to have exclusive content on the system just like sony payed for a timed exclusivity of gta III and vice city. the dl content has nothing to do with blu ray. As for the statement that the game would be bigger if built from the ground up using blu ray well maybe thats true but its not being made from the ground up so we'll never know so the ifs, buts, and maybes are not really solid arguments and I'm a sony supporter.

Just so the sheep don't think I'm forgetting them I will state I believe the Wii will win this gen if it can get a steady supply of good games during its life. I see the ps3 eventually surpassing the 360 because of its stronger worldwide base and maybe even passing the wii if the games don't come and sales slow but with the pace nintendo is at now it will not be until much later in the generation before the ps3 passes it if at all.

hardware wise it is. I'm not talking about graphics as they are pretty close in that but the blu-ra, hdmi support, bluetooth support, memory stick support, and psp connectivity are all reasons as to why the ps is superior from a hardware standpoint

Its also been out an entire year longer. going by gamespot the ps2 has the best games...see how easy that was. at the end of this console cycle I will guarentee that the ps3 will have just as many if not more high scoring games here on gamespot as the 360. thats what I buy a console for it whole lifecycle not the first 17 months or so.

The point of the post was to show you that the head start the have been bragging about has not been as effective as ps2 head start and with the wii selling a t a torrid pace as well as the ps3 slowly closing the gap its pretty hard to imagine the 360 being on top for very long. doesn't mean its a bad system but just pointing it out the lemmings to bring them back to earth.
