The bios update is for if you have a old HD7950 non Ghz Edition so to know ur GPU Statistic : Grab GPU-Z From Techpowerup and Read it Value or Better upload the picture there with the Validate Button Inside GPU-Z need username / password if i remember which is done easy

Overclocking ur video card is a must given you want best possible performance however depending of GPU Model Because Each one have different heatsink on them IE XFX OC edition Vs Sapphire VaporX  it might get very hot so you will have likely to mess with the Fan profile setting

to be like when it reach 50C make it spin at 40-50% then when it 65C make it spin at 50-65% and 75C 70-80%  in MSI Asfterburner or EVGA Preicision X They are the Same Function so they work with any GPU perfectly with like the Very Same function Different User interface that is all
