I've been enjoying Path of Exile (look it up, people) a hell of a lot more, which has a much more Diablo feel to it than D3 does - dark and gritty. I also enjoyed the Torchlight 2 beta a hell of a lot more than D3, plus Grim Dawn looks like it'll turn out better as well. That's three action-RPGs which combined cost as much as D3 does.
@Deadhorizon0 I'm flabbergasted at how many people don't understand there are multiple definitions for "stalling". Your English teachers have failed you.
@InfestedHunter Stalling has more than one definition. Your take, that the author meant "delaying", is completely wrong. What he means is some people think that D3 isn't pushing the Diablo franchise forward because it lacks innovation and is dumbing down what used to be complex systems. In other words, the franchise has stalled...or some may even say it has taken a step back.
D3 has been dumbed down. I don't like automatic distribution of attribute points. I don't like automatically unlocking skills as you level and the ability to change them whenever you want. I defended always-on and the auction house, but I can't defend the dumbing down. Torchlight 2 sounds like it'll be better and it's $40 cheaper. Path of Exile looks like it'll be better and it'll be F2P. I had D2 and LoD at launch and loved them. I'm saddened to say that D3 doesn't appeal to me. Torchlight 2 is where it's at, and I'll eagerly be awaiting that, not even bothering with D3.
I love watching CGI trailers, but I'm smart and experienced enough to realize that the actual game won't look like that or even have the same feel. I'll never judge a game by a CGI trailer, I'll always seek out actual gameplay. That being said, it is a bit deception, especially to children or parents that don't know any better. They need to start having disclaimers appear on the screen that say something like "Not actual gameplay footage" similar to what you see in car commercials.
@DarkNeoBahamut Thanks for the response. I actually got my MS emblem now. I loaded up the conference again, just watching for about ten seconds, and that seemed to be enough to trigger the emblem - not right away, but eventually. I advise anyone who's missing emblems to try loading the videos again. Unlike previous years, it doesn't seem like they have to be watched live.
