oh i actually made a mistake. my monitors resolution is 1280x768 is that still ok for a 768 mb?

Should run tf2 fine that being a source engine game. Nothing runs Crysis well, not even my rig unless I OC everything. The way prices have come down on the 1GB models, there is no need for the 768MB one anymore. Prices dropped precipitously on the GTX 460 recently. When it was around $220 for the 1GB, the HD 6870 definitely had a huge edge at that price.covertgamer78yes but your resolution is a lot higher than mine
well im really tight on budget right now, the sort of games i play are crysis and tf2plus whatever goes on asle cheap on steam.will it run those at max settings whith a 768 mb?
i want to buy an amd phenom 2 x4 965 3.4 ghz be 4 gbs of ram and a nvidia gtx 460 768 mb.
but i heard that i would get more performance if i bought a amd phenom 2 x4 955 3.2 ghz be and a nvidia gtx 460 1gb and 4 gbs of ram.
which would be better? btw my monitors native resolution is 1024x768
can it run crysis at max settings? my monitor resolution is 1024 x 768 and newer games at max settings at that resolution? My would be processor is a amd phenom x4 965 be

ones on sale and the other is reg price, whats the diffirence?
but wouldnt the performance be worse since its 768 mb instead of 1gb? and just to compare my processor that i would be buying is an amd phenom 2 x4 965 beLet me make observations before the member gets off track. If the members actually took a look at the newegg.ca side of things they would have noticed that the cards they are offering are crazily over the price the TC is asking. Here is a breakdown on the cards proposed above but from newegg.ca:
1.Sapphire 6850 184.99 10.74 shipping This is 195 dollars which is 45 dollars more then the TC asked for.
2.HIS 6850 179.99 with 4.99 shipping This is 185 dollars. Again thats 35 dollars over the 150 mark the TC asked for.
3. Whoever is telling you to get a 5770 is completely off base. With the market now moved onto the newer cards, the 5770 is extremely slow and the price to performance is pretty bad now. Infact, 5770 based on newegg canada sell right at the price point I stated for the gtx 460 but the gtx 460 768mb depending on clock is up to 250% faster. Newegg 5770 cards ($144-$169)
A 768mb gtx 460 at stock is slower then a 6850 but faster in overclock while having a lower temp and higher overclock performance potential due to 2 6 pin to 1 6pin 6850. The heat are about the same once you overclock a gtx 460 but at stock is cooler then a 6850. In the end, they even out depending on the games you wanna play so it comes down to price and preference. Like I said orginally from what I looked up, your best card at the price you asked would be the card I proposed earlier in the EVGA 768mb GTX 460.

those are all newegg.com i need newegg.caI'd suggest you pay just a bit more(30$) and get this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908&cm_re=HD_6850-_-14-102-908-_-Product
or this(this one has free shipping)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161348&cm_re=HD_6850-_-14-161-348-_-Product
It will blow everything out of the water in the same price range(150$-200$). If you just can't pay the extra 30, then go for this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&Description=HD%205770&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20
Still a very nice card but you would be losing about twice the performance for just bit more.
