[QUOTE="not_wanted"]Depends on what game, but you should get the 1 GB version. You should be able to max out most console ports.

hm ok so i should pass on the 77 dollars for a gt240 512mb GDDR3and AVP and go with the msi gt 240 1gb GDDR5?

Well it can't be that much of a price difference. More memory is always better.

but is it worth is to give up the free AVP D:

A 5670 is miles better than either the GT 240 512MB or 1GB while cheaper too.

kaitanuvax

yes but id have to connect that to my psu and its more expensive, i just want a cheap gpu that can hold me off for 6 months to a year until i can get a proper computer, besides it would probably be bottlenecking too much and cause problems

bump does a GT 240 need to be hooked up to a PSU?

swehunt

No most likely not but theres a very, very tiny chance it may be depending on the card. If your card however amazingly should need a PCIe pwr conector you'll get a Molex to PCIe pwr adapter in the box the card comes with.

what does that do? im pretty sure that the only way my PSU can take power from a gpu is thorough a floppy connection

i can afford it but it would be wasted as i cant use it to its full potential, and in 6 or 7 months the gtx 460 would be older and i would be looking to gte a new card like a 580 or so

not_wanted

Sorry but I don't understand you. So you'll end up getting a GTX 580 but you want a GTS 250 or a Radeon 5570 to play Crysis and BC2? :? Can't you wait a few more months?

itll take more than a few months and im tired of having games i cant play

dude im not waiting until the end of they year with 15+games i cant run, i need a pc thats proper and i will save later

gmaster456

Well then you NEED to decide on a graphics card. either get a GTX460 and a new PSU or get a 5570 and keep your current PSU. Its not really that hard to decide. Do want to pay more and buy parts that you can transfer into your next build or do you want to spend less and get just enough to get by until you can build a new PC?

i want to spend less, as in the future parts will be cheaper, im pretty sure itll be a gt 240 though as i hear it runs better
