So...... it's pretty green over here....

Yes my friends I've purchased a *shock* CONSOLE! I bought a 360 Pro system this very night and have been busy setting it up to also link with my PC as a Media Center Extender. I bought 4 titles to go with it: R6: Vegas, AC6: Fires of Liberation, Kengo, and Perfect Dark Zero. I've already played the last two and liked them alot, plus they were cheap with discount. So anyways I've got this new white/green monstrosity in my living room. Potential vid blog on this later.... now where did I put that component cable....

I'M BAAAACK (be afraid)

CdrMcNeil reporting in to say my move has been completed and that I am settling into my new digs. I recorded a new video blog that will be up within two days (i need to use FRAPS to capture some gameplay clips) in which I discuss recent PC game demos that have caught my eye. Also I plan to have photos of the NEW Command Center up soon. One other thing I need to mention is that I had a lot of fun doing the last Q&A blog, eons ago that it was. So I would encourage all of you to send me some questions that I can start working on answering. I am back at Best Buy and am also part timing at Applebees. Coast Guard work is still coming, just need to get clearance to go to Cape May by my respective jobs. So thats that on the home front.

It definetely has been an exciting month for PC gamers, lots of great demos have been coming out that show a great taste of upcoming titles ranging from awesome shooter that have already hit shelves to upcoming grand strategy titles. The future looks bright for the PC despite the claims of it's detractors. Oh it should be mentioned that Best Buys are now carrying Macs, more on that in a later blog. I'm going to cut this short so I can get to editing my vid blog.

Keep On Gamin!

PS: My previous vid blog that never made it due to errors on Gamspot was in refrence to the game Command & Conquer 3 and the misrepresentation of skill in many multiplayer servers. A high ranker would launch a server titled "Noobs Only" lure a new player in then summarily beat the crap out of him. Granted online RTS is a cruel teacher and new players probably shouldn't be babied, hoewever it's just wrong and will turn off many potential players to the game. Apparently steps are being taken to combating this problem due to the fact that some game sales are supposedly being affected. Potential buyers are hearing about the brutal online gameplay and are shying away. Granted that is only a rumor I have heard and there appears to be no evidence to support it, however it does make some sense for EA to police it's servers, and it is good to see this being done. I would only suggest that if you're a C&C 3 player do report or at least mark these players with low sportsmanship ratings should you observe this happening. Anyways I'm done preaching. Keep on Gamin!

One of those rare jewels...

With packing underway in full swing I took a time out to try out the single player demo for World in Conflict. Now I've been playing the game in multiplayer since early beta and was already supremely impressed by the game. It was definetely on my top 10 buys for the end of this year. For those of you (and I assume you're either deaf, blind, mute or have been living under a rock for the past 2 years) who haven't heard of WiC, it is a PC RTS that depicts the Cold War gone terribly hot. It is for many the final realization in game form of Tom Clancy's excellent novel Red Storm Rising. It is a pure adrenaline RTS far more so than that of C&C and I am a C&C devotee of the highest order. The game offers a bewildering array of hardware for you to use, and the attention to detail of every single unit, all the way down to remembering that the army wore Woodland BDUs in the 80s and not the new ACUs, or that the Sheridan Light Tank could be dropped in by helo, or that the ALICE gear system was in use at that time just totally floors me. If you are a military buff, love action, and a much more engaging experience than bum rushes online. WiC is your game. Now that's a short run down on it. What prompted me to type this little monologue is that the single player game (and the demo only covers one mission) left me breathless. It was incredible and really made you feel like you were in the shoes of a Company CO flanking, assualting, and dealing with the nuances of modern warfare in a duel between titans. Remembering to pop smoke to cover your retreat or to engage with TOW missiles at armored targets, etc, all of which is engaging and fun; and when you pull of the incredible you feel awesome. I'll blather on and on in my vid review when the title comes out, but to be sure. You don't need to wait for my word on it. PREORDER IT....NOW!

Keep on Gamin!

Same old, same old....

I don't know how many times I'm going to need to post to at least confirm that I am still alive. To let you all know EVERYTHING except for text blogs is suspended at the moment. Why? Becuase I just bought my first apartment and will be moving Sept. 1st. I'll be on my own ^_^ It's a real nice place: www.parcdullesatdtc.com I'm gonna be in a 1 Bd. 1 Bth apartment across the street from the local mall and my place of work. It's all pretty good, an 880 sq. ft. place, the Cape Cod if you decide to take a look. I'm pretty psyched and look foward to eventually be bringing regular updates from the NEW Command Center!
