You can buy used DS's at Gamestop for a cheap price but keep an eye on the touchscreen. The DS offers features other games don't have like touch screen controls and using the microphone to do some tasks.

Most 3rd party games are dirt cheap, giving you an option to buy some great games at a low price.

Brain age cannot make you smarter. It may be able to make you more responsive when asked to answer a question, or easier to remember daily tasks and such, but since it contains no knowledge on history, physics, algebra, etc, it cannot actually make you smarter.
