You guys don't understand.... (I think there is only one other person in this thread that understands this..) The CELL architecture is totally different than the Intel Core 2 Quad. They can't be compared. Both CPUS perform very well when they are running programs that are made for it.Rikusaki

That's not true at all if you compare the performance which is what is being compared.

1) Retail workers aren't let in on billion-dollar corporation's product sales/defect data.Verge_6

Strawman.

2) These anonymous workers are basing their finds on THEIR own personal experiences.Verge

So do a lot prosecuters.

3)The few amount of anonymous sources with their anecdotal experiences can hardly be sufficient to come to the conclusion that the failure rate is, without a doubt, 33%. Verge

A convincing argument der!

If you don't see why using that as a legitimate source is laughable, then I can only express my wonder and awe. If you had, say, a source that could say he had access to Microsoft corporate data, or someone who worked for the shipping firm that sent out their boxes, then you might have something. But you don't. You have anonymous retail employees.

Verge

With this logic, you'd have to be part of the Bush administration to say that hes committed five impeachable crimes.

Petty grammar and definition tripe aside, and to bring this back on topic, if Bill Gates saying it makes it right, then why do you not believe his company's claims of the 360 having a failure rate of, quote, "Five to six percent"? You seem to have no trouble putting such undoubtedly prominent sources like "EB games employee" and "former anonymous Best Buy retail worker" over his word here. Interesting double-standard...Verge_6

Nutin rong wit a duble stndrd. ;)

I don't think theres anything wrong with the machine other than it isn't idiot proofed enough.

You left it on too long running 3d graphics and melted the insides, twice. It was probably bumped around covered in dust and not ventilated. People in this thread have had one since release, not broken.

bad_fur_day

Eh?

I leave my PC on all the time and it's never crapped out on me.  It's also five years old. ;)  I have a PS2 that has lasted since 2002, and I've played that sucker a lot.

And your last sentence is ridiculous.  Plenty of people have lost their 360s to the RROD.

I trust you meant to link this, which, surprise surprise, contains splendid little things like "anecdotal evidence" and "anonymous employee".

Verge_6

Which doesn't hinder my point at all; in fact, it reinforces it.  'Anecdotal evidence' and 'anonymity' are typical of evidence especially high level cases like murder (OJ Simpson Trial) and theft(Exonn). ;)

1) And you failed to understand the textVerge_6

Not really.  Making an assumption doesn't show lack of comprehension, but I think you knew that already.

2) Then Bill Gates is wrongVerge

Says Verge, who I've never heard of.

3) And you are assuming very, very wronglyVerge

'Assumed' is the correct tense.

4) You're right, but it seems you missed the entire point of my posting of it.

Verge

No I didn't, but nice strawman!
