Yes but steam has had years to develop all of this and since Steam creates their own games. I am sure that they gain more money on their sales than Xbox does on royalties. They are trying to increase the speed at which they can develop all of these features. Also to say that Xbox is second in sales, I find hard to believe if you can find me some statistics to back that up. I may believe you. But I am pretty sure that Xbox 360 has been dominating the American market. I only know very few people that own PS3's. Also I know that a lot of the people that own Wii's do not really enjoy them as much as the 360 and find the Wii more of a novelty. xXMotoPsychoXx

Holy wrong.

The 360 has sold a bit more than half of the amount the Wii has. Regardless of how much the consumers enjoy their system, Nintendo made much more money through hardware sales. PS3 (though catching up) is still in 3rd place in sales. Steam isn't a company. It is a service provided by the developers Valve, who do sell their own games on Steam, they also sell many other games from other developers. Xbox live has been out about 7 years now. They have had plenty of time to "develop all of these features".

Anybody educated knows that XBOX Live is not worth the price for what you get. Unfortunately, the casual croud who plays only CoD4, Halo 3 and Gears doesn't know that and there are a good 10 million of them willing to give MicroSoft $50 a year to use all the features of a game they bought of an internet connection they already pay for on a console they already bought that advertises online play as its best feature.

MS has a team of developers working solely on xlive, adding features, keeping the back-end working so you get all the games' interaction that seems like a given now. They're just recently making millions on their game division, not billions. I'll say something that a lot of Sony fanboys said when Home came with ads rolling, they don't bother me. themyth01

How many XBL accounts are there? About 20 million. Multiplied by $50/year that is half a billion just from subscriptions. Maybe I exaggerated a bit but that is still tons of money that is mostly profit.

lol ads are only great when Sony does them...themyth01

Well, I disable them on mine. The information board is a nice OPTION. But even if there were ads on PSN I would understand, it is a free service and Sony needs to make money to maintain it somehow. MicroSoft makes somewhere near the Billions in Xbox Live memberships yearly already. Not to mention XBL Points. Do you think they really need that extra ad money? At the very least give an option to disable them.

I believe it needs 100% BC. At least that's what I want :)

raynimrod

My PS3 has 100% (pretty much, just some PS2 peripherals don't work, but that's understandable). It is still LEAGUES ahead of 360 in terms of BC. Not that XBOX had that many good games anybody would still want to play anyway.

Also, if patent related rumours are correct, Sony has finally perfectly emulated the Emotion Engine digitally, meaning that in a future firmware, all PS3s will be able to play PS2 games (they can all already play PS1 games).

The 360 users don't seem to get it.

You are paying MicroSoft $50 a year (or whatever they charge).

They are also making tons of money off of advertising space that the advertisers know you see.

That is a scam if I ever saw one. I hope this means free XBL is coming, then I might consider buying a 360.

[QUOTE="STRETCH-E"]When will the 360 get a quality exclusive? Or even, when will the 360 get an exclusive?mitu123
Are these serious questions?

Is this a serious thread?

To answer us both, no.

On topic though, inFamous doesn't have any usable guns. LittleBigPlanet has a paint gun... if you REALLY want to count that.

Buzz: Quiz TV has no guns. As others have said, Gran Turismo.

What is your point anyway, do guns make games bad?

Super Smash Bros Brawl
Great multiplayer game, just like the rest of the series. However, because of the Dojo revealing almost all of the best secrets, I was a tad disappointed there. Still play to this day. Online sucked though, but that's ok. Fighting games are better on local multiplayer anyway.
Super Mario Galaxy
I was not overly hyped for this game (bad Mario taste from Sunshine) but this game was nearly perfect to me. Exceeded my expectations in every way. My personal game of the gen so far!
Killzone 2
Again, I didn't really see why it was so hyped, but all my friends switched from CoD4 to this so I picked it up and was quite impressed. It is going to remain my online game until Modern Warfare 2. This was a pleasant surprise for me.
Metal Gear Solid 4
Metal Gear Solid is my favourite game series (did the avatar give it away?) so storywise, this game was somewhat a letdown to me. Though the gameplay and presentation were practically perfect. MGO was not nearly as good as I thought it looked and didn't play much of it. Overall probably one of the best games I have ever bought, but fell slightly short of my unreasonable hype for it.
Gears of War 2
Only played it for like an hour at a friend's house, so I wouldn't say I can build a proper opinion on it, though I thought the first one was overhyped.
Halo 3
It was ok. The campaign was pretty much garbage, but who plays Halo for that? The multiplayer was solid. Even though I am not a fan of twitch-noobfest shooters, I really respect the way Bungie has supported the game so much. I would say the developer is much better than that series and would love to see them make something different because I am not a big Halo fan. It was massively overhyped by the media though.

TheElfChild

Also, add Grand Theft Auto 4 and Crysis to the list. Those are two other games that recieved large hype.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village on DS.

The sequel, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is coming out soon!

The first one is an awesome mystery/detective story with amazing puzzle solving (literally, they give you puzzles (sometimes irrelevant to the story) and you solve them.

It has excellent characters, great art style, and a rather interesting plot twist.

I HIGHLY recommend it!

Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 probably could have gotten away with a T rating.

To go against your point though, I thought the amount of swearing and violence in Uncharted would have made it rated M but it got T.

The Paper Mario games were pretty funny.

So far, I am loving the commentary in Madword, but since I haven't finished it I can't give it the honour.

I think I might go with Portal. Such funny dialogue and the end song always makes me smile.
