Factually, every newer console beats an older console on a sheer technical basis, yes. However, one needs to look at two things while assessing a console: one needs to look at it in context and evaluate it as a product of its time. And one needs to look at the library of games the console had. On both those counts, systems such as the SNES, N64, PS1 and PS2 beat the PS3.charizard1605
Well we're talking about the best console of all time aren't we? So obviously we have to put them against each other not against their time. I'm sure all those consoles had a big library but the only one that comes close to PS3 in terms of quality is PS2 and it's pretty far from PS3 still. My opinion of course.

Best console of all time? :lol: I love the PS3, my favorite console this generation, but the best of all time? Lol no.

How can you not think that? PS2 didn't have online, bluray, wireless controllers and much worse hardware just to name a few examples. It' hardly an opinion PS3 just beats it factually.

Let's see here, quality exclusives so far: LBP2, Infamous 2, Killzone 3 360 NONE Quality multiplats: Dead Island 2, Deus Ex, Portal 2, LA Noire. There aren't even any released exclusives for 360 yet so no it doesn't seem better. And what "10 superior multiplats"?

The fact you don;t know about the other multiplats released does not mean they do not exists and that is why your are failing to provide any valid reason for the PS3's success. Blind fanboy ignorance. Also Killzone 3 and inFAMOUS 2 flopped.

Enlighten me then. Which quality multiplats looks better on the 360 this year? They are still superb games with 83 and 84 on metacritic, underrated btw. Compare this with the 360's ZERO.

Becuase multi-plats don't exist. 10 superior multiplat and 4 "possible" quality games against 2 superior multiplats, and 7 flops with only 1 "possible quality games coming soon. Hmmmmm. You said yourself that the majority of multiplats looks better on the PS3 this year. "possible"? Are we future tellers here? The fact is PS3 has already 3 quality exclusives while 360 has no exclusives whatsoever. If we are future teller PS3 will have 20 quality exclusives lol.

Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Media Molecule and Evolution Studios are owned by Sony. So that's at least 4 IPs from hi list. Now how many from 360?

Once again, sucker punch did not count until recently learn 2 read. Also, being owned does not mean that new Ips cannot me exclusive to the console like for example Gears of war.

They do count. They are owned by Sony so they are now Sony's talent. You don't make the rules. And the second sentence of your comment makes no sense whatsoever.

They are Sony owned IPs, just like Halo is MS'. Microsoft didn't make Halo, Bungie did... even before they become apart of MS. So are you going to tell me that Halo is not Microsoft's IP? Come now...

No, what you did wrong is stop taking reading classes. For example, I was talking about Sucker Punch as an example BEFORE they were brought. Also, another user specifically mentioned SONY and thus, their MAIN studios have done nothing new as far as I have seen except a selecet few games.

Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Media Molecule, Zipper Interactive and Evolution Studios just to name a few.
