Regardless of what anyone thinks it is, it's Final Fantasy made by Square Enix how they wanted it to be. I'm suprised people are still wallowing in the past.
As for Vanille, she's sort of annoying but easily disgestable compared to Beat from Eternal Sonata, that kid really ticked me off. If you've played Blue Dragon on the 360 you'll accept anything after the tragic marumaro.
