Well if we won't be able to play used games on the next-gen consoles then new game prices better drop down to about 25$. Because there is no way people will keep buying every new game if the default price keeps going up. Would the next consoles new games be 75$? 80$... for every game?

The reason we like used games is because many of them get old or are dissappointing from the start with minimal replayablity and overtime lacking servers/communities to hardly warrent investing so much for every new game. We do it because we know that a lot of what we play will give us about 10-20 hours of wasted-time-funness, so we'd rather pay 15-30$ for those games. It's not because we're jerks that don't care. It's because we're smart and we only want to waste a little of our money on new games, not all of it.

Does anyone remember the PS1 port of "N2O" (Nirtous Oxide) with the Crystal Method soundtrack?

This looks like a revamped version of the same idea.

Trippy, ever accelerating, techno race game.

Only this on has less mushrooms and gold coins.

would have been nice to see one of the Giants or Mammoths with "Epic Creature Mod" so we could see how big they get. the ant's were cool, but not as epic as an epic dragon.

Yeah, I'm suprised with current gaming that online battles haven't really gotten bigger and the lack of real indepth co-op.

MAG may lack in graphics, but those huge battles are great when they get going. And as of yet I have found little in other games to create that type of feeling. I'm tired of skirmishes, I want Warfare.

Great points. I love gaming, when it's good. But i will not be a slave to the industry.

The reason I like to still play on consoles is because of their lifespan. PCs are great, but I get tired of having to constantly upgrade or fork over large amounts of cash for hardware to play a few good games and then get board with them like all others eventually. I understand the statements made in the article, yet I would be deeply saddened for all of us if we have to start buying a whole new console every couple of years. I think we are leading ourselves into a very dangerous blind ally by accepting that we MUST always have the newest of everything all the time. We set a standard for ourselves as consumers, and we already have, that we'll spend money on anything new. (Of course I speak in broad generalities) So potentially producers of goods and games (as any market) realize they can keep this going. Think of all the pre-order stuff, pre-pay dlc, all the worthless micro-transaction dlc there is. Some of it is good, some great, alot is worthless. If we start having to buy console every 2-3 years I think we're pretty much done for. There will be no going back. Just like gas prices will never really drop back to any past low, just slightly lower than the new high-price. New technology is great, but I'd rather wait and let it develope well then release with a big jump in all aspects of the gaming. Instead of high-priced little steps. I don't want a Windows Vista experience with my consoles.

And i don't want to be forced to drop huge amounts of cash every year to play games. It's already to much sometimes anyway.

I think I am going to go outside, I hear that's kind of cool.

Why not?

Plus we haven't lived in a world where things blowing up directly relates to us blowing up, or bombings, or war in our own streets, so I would assume that we don't have the same emotional or psycological association with explosions people in some other countries may have.

It's celebratory.

And I mean it's stuff blowing up! Have you seen stuff blowing up!? It's great!

It's one of our real holidays for celebrating the US just being the US. It's summer and fireworks are great. It's nice to make some noise. It's also the time of year they represent: summer, warmth, bar-b-que, friends/family, just being outside.

It's one of our few real traditions.

It's fun.
