Run it? Yes. Full settings? No. You'll need a DX10-capable video card to be able to do that. If you could afford that computer, you can afford the video upgrade.

Seeing as how Newegg is one of the best sites for computer components, with often the lowest prices around, you won't find much difference in price ranges.

What kind of blithering retard do you take me for? You?

I don't claim any bias whatsoever in the video card department of computer technology. It's **** retarded to even think of it. If I were to get a new video card right now, It'd be an AGP version of an 8-series budget line, easily. Not because "omg 8600 pwns lol" or "7600 suxx lolzoasduifp", but because I prefer to think about the parts, compare them, and think of the benefits one has over another. Do not try to pin me to your level, you insufferable plebian.

I'm in Vista right now, enjoying the same experience I had with XP, if not better. Gaming performance is pretty much the same; some games are performing better, some worse, but not by a significant enough margin to go nuts over and start ranting about "omg vista sux lol".

Oh boy, smart group here. Listen, the budget 8-series cards are just that, BUDGET. You never, ever, EVER try to say a budget card is great or "omg ub3r pwnage" as you **** retards like to say. They're for people with tight budgets that still want decent performance out of their current system without having to completely overhaul it. Also, the video **** sucked. Try making the speech bubbles contain decent grammar and stop spurting "ha ha ha i pwn u lol pwnage" so **** much. And like I commented on the video itself, it's truly sad when you have to laugh at your own video to get ONE piece of praise from it. Oh, and you also forgot one major piece. LOGIC. Show the research, show your argument. Like another person linked in a previous post, link to some benchmarks that compare performance and actually show us how they perform.

Between those two, I'd choose AoM. AoE2 was the best of all of them though.

Just get an 8800 of some sort and pay a guy $50 to install it if you can't do it yourself.

I'm running Vista Ultimate on a system very similar to yours, and it works flawlessly. Just don't use the upgrade or anything, a clean install is best for any OS. Halo 2 is DX9, but is Vista only. And you don't need a DX10 card to play Halo 2, or use Vista.
