coh is not direct 10 and the first game to support it is halo 2 which comes out may 8thmastershake575
CoH has directx 10 capable settings. And Halo 2 is not DX10 enabled; it's just Vista only.

Welcome to the Rumor Mill. Please take your ticket, stand in line with the rest of the idiots who believe this crap, and wait your turn to be kicked in the balls by reality.

I'll probably pick it up. I've got Vista, it's working perfectly, much more stable than XP was on this thing. Everything actually performs better than before. And this thing is old, a socket A machine with an AGP 7600 GS. So yeah, I'm very happy with Vista, and I always laugh when I hear the retarded masses scream "omg vista sux lol" in unison when they haven't even tried it.

Give it 3 months at the most before Microsoft files for it to be removed, and rightfully so. It's their product to do with as they wish; you don't like what they're doing, don't be a hypocrite and go out and buy the product while still **** about it. Get over yourselves and shut up and buy the damn OS, or live with old software.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, calm down kid. http://portforward.com has all the information about port forwarding you need. That or you could just google it. It's your connection that's the problem; that, or you haven't patched the game at all.

In almost all cases, the full OS CD/DVD is best. The upgrade version of Vista usually causes errors with programs. Generally, upgrading any OS to another is really a last-resort measure. I'd recommend a clean install any day.

That machine would be good enough to play most, if not all, games maxed at decent resolutions. The only real reasons to hold off at this point are things like price cuts, new video card releases, and the introduction of PCI Express 2.0 later this year.

Well, for now 1GB should be fine, at least long enough for you to save up for another 1GB stick. It's not the end of the world if you don't have 2GB of ram, Vista's not as much of a memory hog as people make it out to be.

Right now a pair of sli geforce 7's out do a single geforce 8 in games and is cheaper but its pointless to spent more money on another geforce 704dcarraher
Uh, wrong. A single 8800GTX, and even an 8800GTS 640mb, outperforms any 7-series SLI situation. The new chips, DX10 API allowance, and ability for use with Shader Model 4.0 make the 8-series a much better choice than the 7-series, provided the money is available. If you're on a budget, go 7-series, but if you want something that will tear through games like a hot knife through butter, especially games coming out later like Crysis, get an 8800, GTX if you have the money, GTS if you're a little tighter on the budget but still want an 8-series.
