ya i had always looked at dota as a game for people that couldn't handle real rts or just wanted to 'practice' with their hero's micro specifically.
known so many people that suck so hard that think that dotas the best game in the world and think they are so good at it, all because you chose a hero that's awesome against the other guy and he cant do anything against you. Its just nothing but false senses of accomplishment left and right, and far more limited choices at every turn.
but then again gamers today have lost all sense of skill and challenge. Just picking the right character and items seems to be about the max kids today seem to be able to process. I really miss the days of hardcore rts that you sat there and felt like watching 2 chess masters go at it, not flipping a coin and hoping for the best and teabagging the other guy when you win.
In dota you can just say someone doesn't know what their doing and rage at them, in rts you could just 'show' someone they didn't know what they were doing in one battle and usually solve any arguments right there. Skill alone is usually what people rose up on, not relying on some op character and a premade team of jerks.
i keep hearing the rumor everywhere that this dlc is supposed to release a lot of the features you'd see on the old genesis version.
I really hope so, id rather they just added more stuff to the editor rather then some new textures and a quick campaign. Heck ive heard theres even a skill system that's viewable by the hex editor, so if just that alone comes down ill be happy.
At least he made some rational points, you folks cant even argue your side of the matter and just resort to direct insults to get what you want while providing no real points of your own at all.
speaking from someone that's been playing hardcore since the beginning of the 80's im here to tell you that you that f2p gamers are by far the worst gamers in history by a fair margin.
There is simply no genre ever that has lowered the bar for the quality of gamers involved like f2p games have.
and if you think im wrong go spend 10 minutes playing a game from MY era. Go play some donkey kong and see if you can even get past the first level without some pay to win items.
Then lets see who is worthy of insult. Im willing to bet its not going to be voqar getting laughed at.
Sry man, but still never seen a f2p game that even got a c- rating in my book yet, and the only think worse then a f2p game, is a f2p gamer.
Those folks really do represent the lowest skill level and competition in video gaming history. sry, but f2p games have rotted the communal mind to the point of zombies.
@outlawst @stan_boyd you don't have to be exact, but even dawn of war was different but still captured the same feel of the world.
walking in the front door and shooting everyone in the face or simply relying on talking your way out of everything was not the feel of our games. Those are the runners that ended up dead in a ditch.
ya and you don't hear me complaining about say dawn of war, or the original MechWarrior games back in the day etc, but this doesn't capture the feeling of the game just running in the front door and either talking your way completely out of it, or just shooting everyone in the face.
@focuspuller alright sure its easy to figure out the very basics of the editor, but have you tried to use the thing?
You have triggers going everywhere and you have to do everything manually, so even small maps can take forever to draw. Its more time consuming then anything, and half the pnp mechanics to the game aren't included here...
ive got a small team of writers that all wanna do different things, and they are all burning off due to the time constraints and the lack of a decent effort to work ratio and seeing as its mechanics are going to remain very simplified anyways.
