They're both great games.

I just beat Dead Space this morning on medium, you get some nice unlockables and such... won't tell ya what though =p. You can play it again through the difficulty you beat it on, but with all your weapons and upgrades. OR - you can start on a new diff. lvl from square one. There is a "survivor" like mode on dead space - "Impossible".

Bioshock is probably a longer game, Dead Space was 12hrs for me. I'd go with Bioshock, its practically the same sort of thing. I liked Dead Space a lot and I will probably play it again, but I may get Bioshock too... that game is one of the best around.

I'll have to agree with the plasma cutter, chapter 11 now and i've gotten my rig nearly fully upgraded and the plasma cutter as well. I started working on the pulse rifle - i like that, reminds me of the Aliens pulse rifle rippin through some baddies.

Plasma cutter is my fav.

I got this game on a whim. It reminds of me Aliens or Event Horizon - so I thought i'd give it a play, and I must say me likey.

I'm on chapter 10 of the game and things have gotten interesting, seems like if it isn't one thing its another and Murphy's Law must have been written into the code of the game, he seems to follow you around ...that ole Murphy is trouble i tell you. I'm thoroughly enjoying this game, the atmosphere fits perfectly - there's something endearing about a sci-fi horror shooter :) I love the upgrades, I put most of my power nodes into my rig (scorpion suit-download) and my plasma cutter, man I love that weapon! The pulse rifle is cool too :)

I won't give any of the story away, but its been enjoyable and I look forward to the ending and seeing what happens after that - do I play it through again for upgrades, etc. Hopefully the incentive to play again will be there, it is a great game.

dead space is fps right?

I cant get into the socom online..well i cant but i get errors and all that good stuff. Like someone else said i have said on other socom forums you'll have to wait for patches much like we did with GTA, Its becoming apparent other than MGS4 any anticipated game needs a few weeks before it is fully up and running w/o any issues.

Dead space isn't a fps per sae. It is a third person shooter. You'll always see your character on the screen, most of the time from the rear, which reminds me of ... oh yeah, the french.
