The 3 things that I really want are the multi-tasking, upscaling 720p games to 1080i, and being able to download PSOne games to play on the PS3 instead of just the PSP. Resident Evil and Silent Hill would be very nice.

I was the biggest XBox 360 fanboy on this site for a long time. After awhile I got really tired of the 360 having no good games, and all the long game droughts. As a matter of fact, there are hardly any games I'm interested in on the 360 for all of 2007. The only games I have liked on the 360 in the whole time the system has been out are Hitman Bloodmoney, Tomb Raider Legend, Lego Star Wars 2, PGR3, DOA4, and FEAR. I got completely bored with Gears of War after 1 week, and I can't stand the Halo games, so there's nothing that I'm really looking forward to.

So, I got a PS3 last weekend. I have to say that I'm WAY more happy with the PS3 than the 360. First of all, the menu screen on the PS3 is 100 times easier, faster, and more innovative than the menu screen(s) on the 360. On the PS3, all you have to do is push the d-pad until you get to whatever menu you want, then just push the d-pad up or down until you get to whatever submenu you want, and push (x). You don't have to physically go into a crapload of different screens like on the 360. To get out of the submenu, all you have to do is push left on the d-pad.

More things that I love about the PS3: Being able to download software updates for the console, the SD Card reader, USB keyboard support, the front loading disk drive, the Blu-Ray player, the fact that you can quit a game or demo and change other settings simply be pressing the PS button anytime during gameplay, the smaller disk cases, and the fact that there will be more variety of games and a larger library than the 360. The only thing I don't like about the PS3 is the L2 / R2 buttons on the controler. It feels like my fingers are going to slip off the triggers because they are so awkward. For driving games, I have to use the face buttons for the gas and brake because using the triggers sucks. I wish they had kept the shoulder buttons they way they were and just made them pressure sensitive.

As of now, the ONLY reason why I'm keeping my 360 is Banjo Kazooie 3.

The End.

I really hope they fix this problem too. My TV does both, but I HATE 720p. I don't know how people got it in their minds that progressive scan is better than interlaced scan. The picture in 720p has a really soft, hazy, blurry look to it. 1080i looks crisp, sharp, and more detailed. Everytime I play Resistance I'm thinking that the game would be so much more enjoyable in 1080i.

I'm having the green screen thing too, except it's only on the menu screen, which really irritates me. I can't figure out how to make it black again. This happened after I installed the 1.54 update.

Code Breakers do not work on the PS3. :( I tried using mine and everything works well until you eject the cd and put in the PS2 disc, it will not start says there is a problem and you can retry but the PS3 won't restart with a new disc in without turning off I guess.

Yep, I'm having the same problem, and I'm using Codebreaker version 9.3. I wish they would make a PS3 Codebreaker. It would work since the console doesn't reboot when you eject a disk like the XBox 360 does.

Does anyone know when they will start leaving the Emotion Engine out of the PS3? I have to have $2000 worth of dental work done, and I have massive credit card debt, so it will be a long time before I can get a PS3. My only option is to charge it, which will make my debt much worse.

[QUOTE="DSPX"]So, does this mean that the PS2 Codebreaker DOES work on the PS3 while playing PS2 games???jdt532

Yes Code Breaker 9.3 does indeed work on the PS3 but any CB version earlier than 9.3 doesn't.

Sweet!! I just happen to have version 9.3. Now I just need to get a PS3 before they start removing the Emotion Engine from the console. Do you think that the Codebreaker will work if the PS2 games are running on a software emulator?

[QUOTE="DSPX"]I thought that Tekken 5: DR was a actual game disk being released in the stores.MetalHead_PS3
Nope, its only available for download on the Playstation Store.

For the 360, we buy prepaid Microsoft Points cards and redeem them on the XBox Live Marketplace.  Does the Playstation store work like that, or do you have to use a credit/debit card online?

Also, how big is the Tekken 5: DR file?

If I get a PS3 after March, will it already have all the most recent firmware updates already installed?

Also, is it true that the March batch of PS3's will have some new kind of cell chip in them?

Should I just wait until April to get a PS3?
