Yo peeps. Im about to build myself a new pc. Now i've been reading posts on the hardware forum to try and get a good idea of what parts are worth buying atm. I still need some input before making any final decisions. My budget is £1000 or $1990 (If the currency converter got that right even). I'll probably just build a new pc again instead of upgrading this new one, so it might be better to get parts that will proform well even in the long run. These are the parts im thinking about atm, if u lot think there fine or i've made a mistake feel free to mention =P
E6850 Core2 Duo 3.0Ghz, 1333Mhz FSB, 4MB cache, socket 775
Intel cuz i don't trust amd. I noticed the current arguement is duel core vs quad. And that by the time software is written to make full use of quad cores all the current models will be no good at that stage. Most peeps also point at as things are right now duel core seems to give the better proformence.
XFX Geforce 8800 GT / 8800 GT
From the proformence comparision i've seen, XFX Geforce 8800 GT/ 8800 GT seems to be the best value for money. only question is would it be worth it for me to get 2 and go for the sli route? I've also heard that certain chipsets are bugged when it comes to using sli feature.
I'll also get for certain 4GB DDR3 ram, though i don't know what make i'll get yet. I still need suggestions for M/B, Tower, Cpu fan and sound card (This gets lowest priority imo). I live in the uk so it will prolly affect what websites i can use and what parts will be avalable. Any help here will be greatly appricated! Thx all =)
