Right wing Canadians are almost as batshit insane as their American counterparts. I don't care where someone comes from, so long as they are contributing to society by paying their taxes and doing their best to build a life for themselves and their families.
And the funny thing is, most immigrants coming to Canada have post-secondary education and left lucrative jobs in their home country, only to have to work entry level minimum wage jobs here. The only reason they can't get work in their fields is because the Canadian university system doesn't recognize out-of-country degrees and requires them pay a fee to have their education "validated" enough that a prospective employer can recognize their value as an employee.
When you leave a country rife with political corruption, and are unable to take anything besides your family and the clothes on your back (usually at the cost of hundreds or thousands of dollars to smuggle the family out), it's kind of difficult to come up with the tens of thousands usually required to get that validation.
