So the Americans lured an Iranian general (who is a hero to the Iranian people) to Iraq under false pretences and then proceeded to assassinate him.

You aren't defending yourself. You're a foreign invader on foreign soil trying desperately to hold on to a failing empire with gunboat diplomacy.

He meant more to the Iranian people than any American general means to the American people.

You already declared war when you assassinated an Iranian general on Iraqi soil.

He is no more a monster than any general in the American Empire.

I think Trump went about this perfectly. Instead of doing it on the sly like the American Empire usually does, he publicly assassinated a general.

If he keeps this up he might just turn the whole world against the American empire.

It's what you expect from everyone else whenever you overthrow a government and leave a country in chaos. It's what you expect when a drone strike kills civilians and you call it collateral damage.

Stop overthrowing governments , terrorising populations and killing people if you don't want your own people to be killed.

The US kind of declared war with this strike. It's one thing to do this strike covertly, by doing it openly I don't think relations can normalise anytime soon.

That being said I can't see Iraq or Afghanistan.

Possibly Libya or Syria. Using proxies with air support. Maybe some special forces working inside the country to identify targets.
