Iran's general was killed for an attack on a US embassy. Let's not pretend the US is instigating anything by defending itself.

You aren't defending yourself. You're a foreign invader on foreign soil trying desperately to hold on to a failing empire with gunboat diplomacy.

What was Soleimani doing in Iraq (not his country and no Iranian forces officially stationed there) doing in Iraq shortly after the United States Embassy was attacked?

That's a good question. What did the Iraqi Prime Minister say on the subject?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7854971/Soleimani-Iraq-discuss-escalating-tensions-Saudis-killed-PM-says.html

Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian Quds Force commander who was killed in a US drone attack in Baghdad on Friday, was in Iraq to negotiate a de-escalation in tensions with Saudi Arabia, according to the Iraqi prime minister.

Adel Abdul Mahdi, Iraq’s caretaker prime minister, told his parliament on Sunday that President Trump called him to ask for help in mediating with Iran after the American Embassy in Baghdad was attacked.

So the Americans lured an Iranian general (who is a hero to the Iranian people) to Iraq under false pretences and then proceeded to assassinate him.

@Damedius: American Empire? Soleimani at same level of any American general?

Seriously? lol

He meant more to the Iranian people than any American general means to the American people.

right. so a leader is left with a choice: further escalate or limit response to deescalate. if your opponent is going to respond to your actions and the goal is to limit further bloodshed, which is the wiser choice?

Didn't Iran say they would only target Trump's personal property?

According to reports, they just attacked a US air base. Iran has escalated again.

You already declared war when you assassinated an Iranian general on Iraqi soil.

Why do you think the Iraqi's told you to get the **** out of their country?

Nicki Haley lies and says that Democrats are the only ones mourning Soleimani. These people...

Last I checked, Soleimani was mourned by no Dem that I've ever seen and recognize him as a monster, only realize how Trump went about it was wrong and knew it would be bad.

He is no more a monster than any general in the American Empire.

I think Trump went about this perfectly. Instead of doing it on the sly like the American Empire usually does, he publicly assassinated a general.

If he keeps this up he might just turn the whole world against the American empire.

How would you deal with Iran purposely killing Americans?

Stop overthrowing governments , terrorising populations and killing people if you don't want your own people to be killed.

So in response of Iran murdering Americans, you would apologize to Iran, and leave?

It's what you expect from everyone else whenever you overthrow a government and leave a country in chaos. It's what you expect when a drone strike kills civilians and you call it collateral damage.

@ulfrinn: Is that a philosophical question? Because isn't the answer that no one and no country should be allowed to kill anyone with impunity?

However, the real world is more complex. Personally, I am not sad to see this mf get what he deserved. But an anonymous car bombing with plausible deniability would have been a much better tactic.

Sadly your idiot-in-chief thinks this is all a tv reality show.

But Iran was killing Americans and people are saying we had no right to deal with the person responsible. So that is saying Iran should be allowed to kill Americans with impunity, because they were. So tell me, how would you deal with Iran murdering Americans?

You sound like someone who means serious business.

You should go there and deal with the problem personally. I'll even buy you a one way ticket to Tehran.

Who thinks this will end up with a war against Iran?

The US kind of declared war with this strike. It's one thing to do this strike covertly, by doing it openly I don't think relations can normalise anytime soon.

That being said I can't see Iraq or Afghanistan.

Possibly Libya or Syria. Using proxies with air support. Maybe some special forces working inside the country to identify targets.

That's only if there is an escalation.

Yet, an entire wiki page all back with sources says it did happen even with UN confirmation that chemical attacks where use "The British UN Ambassador stated that the report's lead author, Åke Sellström, said the quality of the sarin used in the attack was higher than that used by Iraq in the Iran–Iraq War".

You don't even read your own sources or are so hyped that you think you are right you skim though it or a troll. Either way you've still be proven wrong and wrong again. I'm out.

You posted in your quote that Assad didn't do it and think you're right.

I'd leave after that myself.
