If it's subjective, then why do you say it's not even a question which one will be more fun? Contradicting yourself, heyoooooo

The near 30 million-figure for MW3 will speak for itself. ;)

BF3 players are lonewolfers. :P

Anyone who thinks MW3 will be better than BF3 is kidding themselves

Wasdie

Anyone who thinks BF3 will be more fun than MW3 has to be kidding themselves, or try to be unique.

Fun is a matter of opinion. If you like all of your enemies to be right in front of you every 10 seconds and easily killing them with a grenade launcher, play MW3. If you prefer a little variety with your gameplay and some tactics Battlefield is the way to go.

Both can be fun, it's just that after 5 iterations of the same fun, some people may want something a bit different.

True, it's subjective.

This whole thing reminds me of the Crysis vs Halo 3 fight in 2007.

Crysis had superior technique and graphics. Halo 3 was way more fun to play.

Battlefield 3 looks sweeter with more advanced technology poured into it, but we all know which one will be more entertaining to play, it's not even a question...

Umm sorry to say but it is.

millerlight89

He said "GREATEST franchise on consoles right now." Maybe not of all time, but he speaks the truth.

I can read, I know what he said. Again popularity does not dictate quality.

There's a reason COD is so popular...

Quality.

Modern Warfare 3 too good to miss

"We came on board to make a third person action adventure game, in the Call of Duty franchise, and we were working on it about six months," Activision general manager and studio founder Glen Schofield told Gamespot.

"We had a prototype together that was pretty compelling, and it looked really good," co-founder Michael Condrey added.

Unfortunately for third-person fans, Sledgehammer was offered the chance to work on Modern Warfare 3 before the project got off the ground – and couldn't knock it back.

"The opportunity to work on the biggest thing in the industry with Infinity Ward, that's demonstrated that they know how to do exceptional software, was just an opportunity we couldn't [miss]," Condrey said.

"There's a lot of people on the team who have worked on Call of Duty before, who have worked on first-person shooters before, so there's a lot of built-in knowledge about the first-person shooter genre and a lot of passionate gamers. Some guys on the floor are tenth level prestige in Black Ops.

"So it was a nice marriage of experience in the genre and kind of fan desire to work on this franchise."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November. The game's multiplayer will have its eSports debut at Call of Duty XP in Los Angeles this weekend.

Also, be sure to check in CODXP site in about 12 hours for the reveal of MW3!

[QUOTE="DethSkematik"]I guess it's a good way to get people to try out the Elite service. Still, the only thing that would appeal to me is the steel case (what can I say, I love them steel cases :D), but I'm shooting for a Steam purchase with that game :P. KungfuKitten
Depends on the price of the edition. The previous special editions had ludicrous pricing.

True, but well-worth it.

[QUOTE="DethSkematik"]I read somewhere that EA wasn't intending to outsell MW3, just take a chunk out of the audience with Battlefield 3. biggest_loser

As an analyst, where do you see Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 stacking up sales wise. This is the first year where many are seeing Battlefield as a threat to Call of Duty's "crown." Call of Duty's player base is unanimously the largest out there, so does Battlefield 3 really have a shot of outselling MW3?

I think that Battlefield 3 is a lock to sell 8 million units, and if quality is extremely high (as in a metacritic score > 92), there is a chance the game will sell more than 12 million units. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has the benefit of a "network effect" from multiplayer, so when all of your friends stop playing Black Ops multiplayer and shift to MW3, you probably will do so as well. That suggests to me that MW3 could sell as well as Black Ops, which sold 16 million at holiday and 25 million through July. The sell-through might be compressed (20 million or so at holiday) if Activision pulls out all the stops and spends a ton marketing the game. No, BF3 doesn't have a shot of outselling MW3.

Interview source.

[QUOTE="DangerousLiquid"]

[QUOTE="soulitane"] Why would I care about a year for a service where the only features that are announced are free?soulitane

No, no. It's the paid version. :| Everybody else will have the free version for life.

Maybe I didn't make it clear what I meant, I know it's the payed version. The only features announced for it so far are free, I have no idea what the payed features are thus it makes it impossible for me to be interested in it. How can I be interested in something I don't even know what is?

Ah, you make a very good point. I understand now.
