Sorry, I had to use that joke from Invader Zim. Well, anyway, my birthday is tomorrow, and I got a TV-tuner as an early birthday present today!
I think I'll hook up my old CRT beside my new LCD so that I can use it to watch TV. I think that'd work pretty well, as long as I could clear up enough room for it.
UPDATE: I got it up and running with both monitors!
As you can see, I've uploaded two more videos of Super Mario Land and SML 2 to go along with my original SML 2 video. What's really funny to me is that my other video, anti-tank missile, has been up for four months, and in two days my first SML 2 video had topped its 140 views by two, and the day after it had 300 views, and today it has about 330, and this is early in today :D
My new videos are about the original Super Mario Land and a continuation of my SML 2 video, with much less dying. The only problem I've had with uploading these videos is that I often take too long of a video and go over the 100MB limit, and I hate to make a mini-series out of every video, especially because I know firsthand how short attention-spans we all have. :P
So, my question to you is- what game should I create a video of next? I--know a guy-- who has a lot of uber-rare games, so it's all up to you what I should record gameplay of next, be it on GB, GBC, or SNES. Heck, if there are any rare games on GBA, I'd be happy to record that.
I've already tried many times to record a video under 100MB of the 'Awesome Black Hole' on Star Fox (SNES), but every time it's over the limit, even when I keep it limited to the first time I find the spinning line of asteroids (you have to fly through the middle of three of these lines for the portal to open)...
I await your request :P
Rmember that laptop I have? Well, for a long time my dad has been using it, because his work laptop was bricked (he has an incredibly long and painful history with computers). About a week ago, however, he got it back from being fixed (they had to re-clone the hard-drive with his work software).
When he tried to install AOL back on it, it told him the install file is corrupted. No matter how many times we re-downloaded it, it said the install file was corrupted. And, since then, he's been convinced, regardless of how many times I tell him it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, that AOL killed his last computer. I would like to go on for another page about what a techonology imbicile he is, but I simply can't put it into words! Let me give you a quick example: I tell him to do something really simple over and over again and explain to him exactly why it will work, but he spends an hour arguing that it's too risky, and eventually calls technical support, who tell him what I was saying to, every single friggin time. :x
This wouldn't be a problem if he would go to AOL.com, or used the install file I have a copy of, but no! He insists in his ignorant way that AOL will crash his fixed laptop, and he hasn't used it once since! He's constantly using mine, complaining about how slow mine is, and when I tell him to use his own laptop (which has a fast dual-core and everything) he explodes, saying my laptop is set up just the way he likes it, and that it has AOL on it. He also said (which was very desturbing to me; I knew what it meant) that his laptop was at work (in his office) and that mine is at home.
I've been fearing for the life of my poor little laptop ever since he first wanted to "borrow" it. They're already inseperable! :?
One other major point: I have my account (Admin, password) my sisters original account (Admin, password) and an account appropriately named "Temporary Use" (Limited, password) for when someone like my mom wanted to check her E-Mail, without the possibility of her screwing anything up. I had it password protected so that nobody could gain access, even to a limited account, without a password. When my dad wanted to borrow it, I removed the password. Later, he asked if he could be an administrator, and I argued admirably, but he was the original half-buyer of the laptop, which he gave to my sister, who handed it down to me, so I gave in and very grudgingly gave him access. A couple days later, I boot it up and find "Temporary Use" changed to my dad's name, with his own custom picture. What's worse, I think he now has a password. I absolutely can't stand this.
If he does have a password, I'm going to go on there, change the name back, take away the password and set him back to limited! He's outstayed his welcome.
Thanks for reading!
Here are some tidbits:
-I found my family's old SideWinder Joystick. I had given up on getting it's weird cable into my computer, but I found an adapter to USB that it came with, so I've played a couple of games with it. I remember I always used to play Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit on our old Windows 98 computer with it...
-I'll be getting a nice Logitech wireless mouse on my birthday for my laptop, or on occasion my desktop!
-The Wii outlook is bleak. When asked what I want for my birthday I would always say a Nintendo Wii, and two nights ago my parents told me to give them a real birthday list... srsly. :?
-I got revenge on an old enemy. A couple friends and I who hate his guts found his login number and password (student ID) and logged into his account, from which we deleted everything. And by we, I mean me. I copied it before I deleted it, and I copied a couple hilarious "I-hate-you" pictures in there. In good humor, of course.
-I've reached 1000 profile views!
-I uploaded another video, finally! I've been trying to for a long time, but since my internet was spotty, it would quit out in the middle of uploading. I also *tried* to upload more pictures, twice, but both times it gave me a PM saying image processing failed. The video I did get in is gameplay of the uber-rare Super Mario Land 2, and it looks a lot like SMB3.
So there's some info for yall which couldn't have a blog of their own.
Lots of things are going on soon. My birthday is next sunday, I'm 9 profile views away from 1000, and I'm playing new games from the Playstation store- Wild Arms and Spyro. Today's also Super Bowl 42 (I don't know roman numerals much past the Final Fantasy series), so my dad and uncle get a chance to watch it on our 42" 1080p Widescreen LCD TV. Today I've been playing Spyro on my PSP, and have almost beaten it (I'm at the last two levels at Gnasty Gnorc's), but have only just started Wild Arms, mainly since it took me until 11:30 PM to convince my parents to allow me to buy it.
I think I'll eat some Fritos. :)
Remember how I've been trying (and failing) to download games from the Playstation Store? Well, today some Comcast guys came and replaced our modem, since it was 'bugging out' constantly! I tried to download Spyro again, and instant success!
Party over he-ere! :D
I have too many precious childhood memories associated with Space Junkie to even scratch the surface in theis blog, but needless to say when I finally found a link, I was ecstatic, and I still am. I absolutely adored this game when I was little (and got the highest score imaginable in it, to boot), but there is one problem: It's an old Mac game, from my family's old Mac IIsi. That Mac is very fun. Lots of great features... and many great games.
I spent a good portion of today continuing my hunt for a windows version of this awesome game, and I finally found one! Click the link up top to download it!
EDIT: I beat it my old high score! I beat waves 1-14, 6 times, and then killed myself 7 times at the end of wave 7, since I could've played forever if I wanted to, because I was gaining about two lives every time I beat the 14 waves... :P What a horrible problem, right? I tried to end on exactly 1,000,000, but I got like 1,000,250, so I continued to another fun even number. My official high score is: 1005050, though I really can go on forever.
I'm going to put this on my flash drive (as a U3 program) so that I won't have to go without it's sidescrolling wonders any longer... please, do yourself a huge favor and download Space Junkie. :D
