No, you're wrong. Look at my other post to see how wrong you are. You are very wrong.They. Are. The. Same. Thing. Anyone who thinks one is better than the other is..... wrong.

Say what?
Btw, the achievement systems are fundamentally the same, they achieve the same thing in different ways.
"They achieve the same thing in different ways." Really now? Same with Nintendo and Ford. They both gain money, but in different ways. I guess they are the same thing now. The very fact that you said "in different ways" contradicts your first statement. I'm not saying they are radically different, but there's enough to justify a preference.Uncharted 2 is a Wide-linear game. The start and finish is fixed, but you can choose which path you want to take. That's how I meant it.
If you look at earlier posts, you can see I posted some differences. It's not a big deal. It's just like getting my iPod; I wanted a blue one. If they had every color there, I would've chosen the blue one. If they didn't, I wouldn't take the effort to go out of my way and find it. But since it was there, I chose it over the pink one, the red one, the silver one, and such. There are some slight differences. View my other post to see.[QUOTE="Darberio"][QUOTE="kontejner44"]
They are the same.
Sidenote: An achievement system shouldn't be forced upon a game. Killing x number of targets with the y weapon is useless imo. An example of a good achievement system is in WoW, because I learned alot about the game by doing them, stuff I didn't even knew existed. That's what I would like in a game, the types of achievements that when you go through the list, you're like "oh, I didn't knew you could kill the enemies in this way!!" those are nice.
Who told you that lie?Say what?

Who told you that lie?[QUOTE="Darberio"][QUOTE="jalexbrown"] Chill out, dude. Seriously. Why are you riding me and not all of the other people saying they're the same thing? Because it seems that there are people who agree with me, but you ignored them and jumped me instead.jalexbrownSo you can't come up with anything to respond? I gave you valid points, and now you know you're in the wrong. Admit it, move on, and apologize for having a massively inflated ego. I hope this takes you down a few notches. 1. All PS3 games since the start of 2009 have trophies. Unless you're a trophy hunter who wants to have 100% on every game, this is irrelevant since January 1, 2009. 2. In multiplats - aka: most games - a list of trophies versus a list of achievements will look identical. It just ends up being that a certain range of achievement points equates to a certain level of trophy. 3. Having x/x points indicates the same thing, no? 4. I agree that it would be nice if the 360 sorted the list of achievements by the amount of points each is worth, but that's merely an operating system issue...not a flaw of achievements. 1. And what if they are massive trophy hunters? There are some great titles like Valkyria Chronicles that do not have trophies. This isn't invalid at all, especially since the PS3 has been allowed to not have trophies longer than it has. Not having trophies in a game can be off-putting to some gamers, so maybe you should respect their preferences. 2. Not sure how this disputes what I said. Trophies are separated into different rankings, while the Achievements are all jumbled together. 3. You're right; it does. But you'd have to sift through a few menus to find this out first. Looking at someones' trophy list instantly tells you this. 4. It's much easier to see if a player went for higher ranking trophies or lower ranking trophies. It tells you if the person has gone through more rigorious challenges. The achievements are jumbled together, so you do not instantly know. Even one of these points would be valid enough. The very fact that not all PS3 games have trophies completely eliminates the "they are the same" argument. There's still a hefty amount of PS3 games without trophies.
They're not the same thing. You just don't know what you're talking about.I find it sad that people actually choose one over the other when they are the same crap.

lol there's secret achievements too so you still have to check online :P Yeah I like it though, because sometimes achievements can spoil the game. Great, another valid point! That is very true. I don't like scrolling through a list to see some story spoilers. It is a good thing that some developers are aware of this and have taken action. Such as is the case with Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer, a very story-heavy game. Also, I know I am a blind fanboy that mindlessly hates every other system because I have an opinion on this, but I prefer Trophies more. The main reason is because I don't like the jumbled mess and prefer the more streamlined approach with the bronze, silver, and gold trophies. Another reason is that the Platinum trophies instantly tell me how many games my friend has completed 100 percent. Again, I apologize for being a mindless fanboy.[QUOTE="Texas2089"][QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"] Yup. really bugs me how some trophies are "???" though. I mean wtf? Just tell me what I need to do! I don't wanna have to check online :xAnjunaddict
[QUOTE="Darberio"][QUOTE="jalexbrown"] What legitimate reason has there been that they're different? Because I've missed it.jalexbrown1. Not all PS3 games have trophies. 2. Achievements are more detailed with their points, for better or worse. Maybe some people think the superfluous high numbers are unnecesarry and they prefer the more streamlined trophies, which are separated into four categories. 3. Platinum trophies indicate how many games a user has completed 100 percent. 4. Trophies aren't jumbled together like Achievements, so you can see just how many of the harder challenges were completed because of the bronze, silver, and gold rankings. They aren't monumental differences, but they enough to justify a preference. You are just quick to label someone as a "fanboy" because of your massive superiority complex. Go ahead and argue that these "things are pointless," but then you'll just come off as ignorant. Chill out, dude. Seriously. Why are you riding me and not all of the other people saying they're the same thing? Because it seems that there are people who agree with me, but you ignored them and jumped me instead.
