I can't believe I'm cheating... on Beyond Good & Evil! Not once... not twice... but three times! Oh, the agony! :P

All was going well. BG&E satisfied my need for an adventure game beautifully; with it's lush graphics and pleasant atmosphere. But soon... another urge came over me. The urge... to smash someone's face in.

Now, I've played all my fighting games to death, so I needed new blood. Then I went and bought... DOA 2. It's not bad... at least I'm letting out my frustration in a constructive way. And it wasn't too consuming to pull me away from BG&E. I'm also playing Fire Emblem on my GBA... but I've managed to balance the 3 reasonably well.

... but then... it came into my life... and is now the center of my universe... or should I say... COSMOS?

I can't seem to put Katamari Damacy down. (Okay, so I obviously put it down so that I can be here to type this, but... ah, never mind). It's just so fun! Every time I finish a stage, I go back to re-do it; just to see if I can make my ball o' junk bigger than last time! And today... I started getting people stuck in my ball! Talk about uber cool!

So, it seems like I can't be a one-game woman nowadays. This has never happened to me before (I usually play one game at a time, 2 max). And by the looks of things, KD will be taking up most of my time and attention. I hope the other games don't resent KD just because I have eyes only for it at the moment. :P

Usually, you wouldn't see another "Shameless Promotions" until next month (still gathering info and such). But this was just too important to pass up. That... and Grizzly-Wizzlly threaten to take away my supply of chocolate (okay... so that part isn't true. But he still could <_<... >_> ).

Are you one of those gamers who've been gaming for many years (like me)? Are you just a bit tired of seeing games being turned into half-baked sequels and copycat games? Games that are over-hyped and turn out to be complete flops? Do you ever wish that a game would come along that's so radically different from the others, that you would feel... refreshed? I think I have the game for you...

KATAMARI DAMACY

Say it with me now: Katamari Damacy

I got it today. I played it for an hour. And I haven't laughed so much while playing a game in a looong time.

The story: Your dad, the King of All Cosmos (who looks like some character from a Monty Python animated short), well... he got wasted and accidentally got rid of all the stars. He sends you, the Prince, down to Earth to collect enough knick-knacks to create new stars. You collect objects by using your Katamari (your lump) to run them over, making them stick to your Katamari. You have to make it big enough before the time limit expires. If you succeed, then you make a new star. Yea! :D

Control is easy enough: you just use the Analog sticks. Yep, that's all. You use the L1 to look around and R1 to jump in the air to get a better view of things. And that's it. So wonderfully simple and easy to pick up! The music is so catchy (I was singin' along with the Japanese vocals -- somewhat :P); it's perfectly suited for the game. The graphics are cute and quirky. And the dialog... the King has some of the funniest lines ever. The fact that he uses the Royal "We" just adds to his character.

KD is just so bizarre, you just can't help but be amused by it all. Lemme tell ya... there's a certain feeling of satisfaction that you'll experience when you're able to collect a Tabby Cat for the first time :P

It's these types of quirky lil' gems that I love to support. And I'm asking y'all to do the same. If you own a PS2, buy it. It costs $19.99 US ($29.99 CDN). We need to see more games like KD out there nowadays, amidst the sea of over-hyped games and sequels. It's the breath of fresh air that rejuvenated my gaming spirit and made me remember why I became a gamer in the first place.

I'm begging ya, peeps. Please rally behind Katamari Damacy. The more we do, the better chance we'll have of seeing more games like it. It's all well and good to support fave 'big' games. But we can't let those lil' gems pass us by either.

Royal RAINBOW!

I had a nice walk around town this morning. Nothing eventful really happens around here, but at least it was peaceful enough to clear my head. I went to 3 different stores -- no Katamari :( Somethin' tells me that the game's release here might get delayed anyhow (several companies are packing French versions of the Instructions with games nowadays, and that usually has an effect on the games' release here by, like, a day or two).

I went to this one rental store that I haven't been in for ages. They really changed the place up! Now they're selling video games and accessories. They never used to do that before. They had something there that sparked my interest, though: a DDR2/ Dance pad combo for $89.99 CDN. Tempting... maybe I'll get it in a few weeks, provided that they still have it.

There's an RPG going on in Tremor's Imperiate. I signed up to participate... but I haven't the foggiest idea when to jump in :cry: I'm so confused! :(

Today was a nice day... but it was cold! Brrrrrrrrrr!

Mom had three teeth pulled out instead of one! Poor woman... still can't beat my record though (I had 10 pulled out -- my 4 Wisdom teeth and 6 extra molars that grew on the roof of my mouth and beneath my tongue. Oy! :P )

Japanese was okay... gotta do my homework. Meh, I'll do that tomorrow :D

Speaking of Japanese... Katamari Damacy's coming out tomorrow! I'm gonna go see if they have it at the stores around here (if not, I'll check out EB Games on Wednesday).

Almost done sorting out the little details for my story. Now I just need to think of the best way to start it.

I haven't written a piece of fiction since my Fiction Workshop at school two years ago. But I now feel the urge to write again! w00t! I have a story in mind, I just need to finish up a few details (time lines, character backgrounds and such). I'm pretty happy about this! :D

Still can't seem to master those Counter Hits in DOA2. It's all in the timing... poop! :P

My neighbour told me that she put up the poster at her gym. Hopefully she'll get a nice lil' business going. *knocks on wood for her*

Mom's staying home today. Her tooth hurts so she's going to see the local dentist. She'll most likely get it pulled out.

Yesterday was a good day. I played a bit of Fire Emblem (almost done CH. 15... Yippie!) and I tried DOA2. It's not too bad; it might take me a while before I get used to the control and how to do moves and such. I chose to start with LeiFang... she's pretty cool (any girl who engages in mortal combat in high heels gets a thumbs up from me... it's just cool!)

There was a massive party at Tremor's Imperiate! We call it "the w00tfest"! It was fun! I did the Happy Dance while I was drunk and passed out on Tremor's sofa... and Max jumped on my head *gives Max the Evil Eye... grrrr!* I threw up on one of the cushions and turned it over. Hopefully Trem won't find my "lil' present"... yet... :P

I chatted with some buddies of mine on MSN. One of my new buddies, Rawpulse, wants me to make an e-shrine devoted to him. Riiiiiiiiiight. I would make an e-shrine for Tremor... or davideric1... or Xtreme... or Kazona... or Grizzly-Wizzly... but Rawpulse? Blah! ;):P

Today I plan to do my Japanese homework and study for my quiz on Friday. I made cue-cards for the Kanji we have to know, so I just have to study those. I might play for a bit, depending on my mood.

Ooo! Ooo! I finally finished downloading the DMC3 movies from GS. Did I mention that Dante is the sexiest character ever? That face... those moves... those abs! O_o

I have a quiz next Friday for Japanese (Kanji... gotta study them a bit more :P ).

I went to EB Games... again. This time I wasn't lookin' for ICO (I figure I'll find it when I'm not looking for it). I felt an urge to buy a Fighting game -- all my fighting games are from the PS days and I've pretty much played those to death. They didn't have Street Fighter Anniversary Collection :cry: so I had to look for something else to satisfy my need to bash someone's face in. Being the cheap b******d that I am I looked at the used game section. And I picked out: DOA 2 Hardcore. I've never played any of the games in the DOA series before, and I've read reviews saying that it was good so I figured it wouldn't hurt. I started to kick myself after my purchase: they had most of their new games behind the cashier... including Viewtiful Joe for the PS2 *starts mumbling under her breath* Well... they had plenty of VJ games left, so I can pick that up some other time :P

I just found out that YTV (a television station that's pretty much the Canadian equivalent to the US' Cartoon Network) have some killer shows this evening... it's like an Anime Block! It actually started at 7:00pm, but it's the 9:30 - 11:00 block that interest me the most:

• 9:30 - Gundam Seed (I've seen the first four episodes before... so cool!)
• 10:00 - Inuyasha (I stopped watching it after a while because they were showing re-runs... maybe they have new episodes now)
• 10:30 - Witch Hunter Robin - I've heard of the Anime, but I've never seen it. My buds told me it was okay

I won't rush off to watch them though: they're gonna show again starting at 12:30. And if I should miss them, I can watch them again at 3:30am (thanks to the wonder that is satellite TV :D ).
