@Mogan: lol you are acting like they are different games, they are literally the same game, just the other is patched up.
With that logic devs should have the right to charge you for patches, because you already payed for the product they sold you and anything new that comes after that devs are within their rights to charge you for it. Don't get me wrong, its a perfectly solid argument to make and I have nothing to counter argue that, however, what you fail to understand is that its in bad faith to consumers, you will not win people over to your side if you intend on screwing them over with semantics.
Are they gonna leave the original version or are they gonna discontinue it? if they will keep the original then why should I spend what will obviously vastly more money for the "remaster" when I can just get the original for much cheaper price? and if they are gonna discontinue the original game so that they can have an excuse to charge players more, what makes them think people pay big money for an old game? as opposed to simply applying existing graphics mods? or even pirate the original? Either way as a potential consumer you guys turned me off, you gave me no incentive to get your game AND you are spitting at the face of people who bought your game on that platform, which gives me even less of a reason to support you guys, when will devs stop trying to screw their consumer base?
@Mogan: Because they already payed for the game, what those devs are basically telling us is we should pay for glorified patches. It would be a different story if the made their games on a completely new system, but the game already exists on PC, polishing a game and re-selling it on the same platform and not compensating current owners is pretty darn unethical, they might have a case if they added DLC, but then again, current owners should only pay for the DLC.
@maxrang: Correct on PC. That was apparently one of the issues that caused the glitch, I tried uninstalling every single media player I had and the glitch still persisted, then I decided that its ridiculous that I the consumer had to go through so much trouble to get the game working so I simply gave the game a negative score for bad optimization until the devs fixed this glitch issue, so now I'll see if the Warmastered Edition has addressed this.
I hope the Warmaster Edition fixed that problem with cut scenes not playing, its the reason I never bothered playing the first game, downloading it right now.
