I just watched it, I don't get what's wrong with it?

You don't get the "emotional depth"

Oh I see, yeah I guess if you're looking for that then this probably won't serve you well, but I think it does fine for filling you into the plot (at least for being an digital comic :P.)

With the Signature Edition not being on Steam I'm holding off for another Ultimate Edition, I haven't beaten the first one yet anyway so I'll have enough to keep me busy.

[QUOTE="subrosian"] If all you care about is small-team battle PvP, then more power to you I guess? Raiding is pretty much the definitive end-game MMO experience. If you're not raiding, I somewhat question the point of investing time in an MMO. Why not just play an FPS or RTS title? Why not play a DotA-like or a hybrid experience ala ArmA, WW2 online, etc? Why not play any other game, in the world, where skill is the only decider, over MMO PvP where there are so many mitigating factors that degrade the competitive experience?

-

And GW2 faces the problem of how long their PvP remains viable / fresh / interesting as far as even end-game PvP goes.

Trust me I know that PvE is what drives MMO's, and that a PvP focused MMO probably wouldn't survive on the MMO market (coughwarhammeronlinecough), but PvP in MMO's can be just as fun as raiding. If I enjoy MMO PvP I see no reason to go play an "FPS or RTS game" they play completely different and the experience isn't the same. Also I do enjoy "small-team battle PvP" as well as Open World PvP :P.

I just feel kind of bad for people who want a small-team experience but play MMO PvP. It's like training to be a badminton player. I mean, one, it has "bad" right in the title, and two, don't you think you could play *any other sport* and y'know, face more legitimate competition / have more fun? No? Okay... - Seriously, take up SC2, TF2, something.... anything... other than MMO PvP, and you'll be better off if you're serious about high-level competition :P

I use to play TF2, before the Mann Co. update :( and I hate RTS games so I'm all set on SC2 :P.

[QUOTE="DarkerKamikaze"]Seeing as neither Guild Wars 2 or ToR are close to release it's interesting that you've found out they have no end-game content :Psubrosian
Your must be new. If you've heard of a game, I've already played it. - The problem facing both ToR and GW2 is that, by design, they have limited their end-game. It's irrelevant what you argue, the fundamental c1ass designs in the game made a choice between "individualism" (aka "special snowflake") and end-game. There are always design compromises when you build an MMO. That's why GW2 will have better PvP than WoW, but a far, far worse end-game experience. That's why leveling in ToR will be more fun than leveling in WoW, and yet people will get bored of the game in a shorter span of time.

If Guild Wars 2 PvP is better than WoW how will it far, far worse end-game experience? (I only PvP for the most part, I don't really raid or anything like that :P.)

It will have no effect on potential sales because people will be going back to WoW in 3 months anyway. The reality of the situation is that all of the "stuff" that games like Old Republic and Guild Wars 2 claim to "fix" is the same core of stuff that actually makes an MMO work / keep subscribers. - Old Republic is great for single player, yet lacks real end-game content. Guild Wars 2 is great for PvP, but lacks real end-game content. The problem just continues and cascades. You have to pick a point in the play experience where the game is at its peak, and because WoW chose the end-game, everything else struggles to compete to keep the diehards. - And no, I think the monthly fees on a game can become a sticking point. WoW can charge $15 a month because it's king, and because it has quite a few diehard / end-game players who would pay $150 a month if you asked them. Old Republic is a new MMO, and one that's aiming at a lot of people who don't currently pay for MMOs. The Star Wars name is only going to get you so far, and the monthly cost becomes an issue, especially for a younger audience.subrosian

Steam has sales most days. but the relaly big sales usually happen along a holiday or some type of theme. Like last year there were great summer sales, but the fourht of july sales (it ws the whole week) were awesome!

Wasn't awesome for my wallet :(.

I've only tried the demo, didn't really hook me so I never purchased it.
