[QUOTE="Darth_Tigris"][QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"]another case of something which is not and was never intended to be racist that gets turned into something racist by an overly pc media. adam sessler needs to remove his head from his ass.

So if someone takes artful nudes of prepubescent children with no intention of it being child pornography, does it make wrong that such images would make people uncomfortable because they could be perceived as child pornography just because vocal fans of photography say it is?
You're talking about two completely different subjects. Nude images of children are never acceptable, its illegal, and those people will be uncomfortable seeing any children naked. Its not a case where they just have a problem with naked black kids.
If Adam were saying that he is uncomfortable killing people in videogames, I could respect that opinion much more. Instead he's trying to make exceptions and force something into an issue of racism when it isn't. That type of thinking and false whistle blowing is incredibly destructive to race relations.
I'm starting to wonder, as a black man, should I feel like I'm committing a hate crime everytime I kill a white person in a videogame?
Yes, two completely different subjects. I won't deny that. But they are analogous. In what way?
Sessler, along with Croal and others, have said the IMAGES IN THE TRAILER made them uncomfortable because of how it reminded them of some horrible racial history. Myself, as well as others, feel uncomfortable looking at images of nude kids because it reminds us of child pornography. Does that make it wrong for us to say it makes us uncomfortable?
I'm a black man too. I've played nearly all of the RE games. Had a blast. When I first saw the trailer to this one, I thought it had great graphics, an atmospheric setting and a continuation of the RE4 gameplay. That's pretty much it. But once I started hearing things about racist imagery, I revisited it. I listened to their points. And, especially after what Croal articulated, I UNDERSTAND where they are coming from. It makes them uncomfortable.
What consistently disturbs me about us as gamers is how often we refuse to accept that someone may react differently or have a different view of something that we do. Maybe this is a side effect of internet communication versus dealing with real people and seeing the pain, anguish, excitement and passion in their faces or voices. Sessler did a good job of saying how he felt without saying anyone that doesn't feel the same is WRONG.
