And none of the devs working on FFXIII had such a strong bias for Sony platforms, as Nomura does.
Now which game is Nomura lead devloper on?
What part of this are you having trouble with? The COMPANY decides if a game goes multiplat, not the developer.
That's a very good point. Nomura indeed does have the ultimate say in where his game goes. However, I will say that the possibility (though admittedly small) still does exist since MS has the option of going to Nomura himself and offering a handsome sum. If Ultra PiPi understands why can't you? If a company told you to make a game and you wanted to make it exclusive to your favorite console. You had all rights to the game. You came up with the plot, dialogue, setting, etc. The game is yours and YOU have control over it not the company. If you say you don't wanna port then the company has to deal with it. If they port it without your permission and use your dialogue and designs then thats a big lawsuit. In conclusion the company doesn't decide, Nomura decides. Is it really THAT hard to understand that?[QUOTE="DeadSpaceXIII"]Nomura is a huge Sony supporter, he even told Famitsu shortly after FFXIII went multi that he wanted to keep Vs. XIII exclusive to PS3. The guy who decided for FFXIII to go exclusive isn't Nomura. People are in charge of different FFXIII games. Its best not to hype up FFVXIII 360 because it most likely won't happen. Also for the guys who said its a COMPANY. That may be true but Nomura has a lot of power and respect down there at Square-Enix. He gets what he wants and being to Pro-Sony guy he is it'll probably stay exclusive. Also if Square ever FORCES Nomura to port for 360. He'll most likely quit. And no another person can't do it because everything FFVXIII is legally Nomura's including character designs. Also with FFXIII being exclusive in Japan, and MANY PS3 owners buying a PS3 just for FFXIII. I'm pretty sure the PS3 version will sell more. Since FFXIII may come out in late 2009 or 2010 by then the PS3 would already have many jrpg released and games like Heavy Rain and many more released. Hell by then the PS3 will have a bigger install base and a price cut. So TC, enjoy FFXIII, and Star Ocean 4. I'm sure their will be more jrpg coming to 360 but I doubt Nomura will let Vs. go multi-plat.nervmeister
this is probably the dumbest post i've ever read in my entire life. Square owns the IP. Square employs Nomura. Its Square's game not Nomura's. Square might take Nomura's opinion on the subject into consideration but ultimately Square can do whatever they want with it.
Yes the Final Fantasy franchise is Square's. They can't just port Vs. XIII without Nomura's word. If they do it would have to be developed by somebody else. In the end FFVXIII is Nomura's creation just like Kingdom Hearts. They can't just force him to port HIS game and ideas over to another console. It can be ported but Square and Nomura and MS would have to strike some type of deal. It doesn't work like that. You can't just automatically port the game. Square may have a decision but in the end, Nomura has the most important decision seeing as how he CREATED the game.[QUOTE="jonnyt61"][QUOTE="Nagidar"][QUOTE="jonnyt61"][QUOTE="Zero5000X"]Question: How many time was Final Fantasy XIII confirmed to be PS3 exclusive?Nagidar

What part of this are you having trouble with? Some Devlopers don't like being treated like lapdogs, and some companys know to treat certain devlopers with respect.
Dude, you just don't get it, SE is a company, companies want money, SE is the Publisher, if SE wants the game multiplat, they LEGALLY have the rights to do it, wether they make it multiplat or not is up to SE, not the developer.
I'm not saying it will be multiplat, I'm saying SE has the decision, not the developer.
Nomura: Ok so you want me to design the characters, come up with a plot, script for the characters, determine how gameplay will be, and everything else. Square-Enix: Yep Nomura: Ok ok, my game idea. I want it exclusively on PS3. Square-Enix: Kay Square-Enix: Port it NOW, Nomura Nomura: No, my game I don't wanna Square-Enix: Kay Thats how that goes. Nomura's game and he decides not Square-Enix.I believe you actually. I simply said that MS could try a last ditch effort by offering money to Tetsuya Nomura himself whom I actually admitted in the post that you just quoted has the final word over where his game goes. Read more carefully next time. Geez. I wasn't replying directly at you. I was telling the other guy if you understood that Nomura has to decision of where it goes, why is it so hard for him to not understand.[QUOTE="DeadSpaceXIII"]If Ultra PiPi understands why can't you? But they arent the CREATOR. It's like me creating a tv show and i wanted it on one specific station and then that station decides to spread it out to the others. SO I then decided to not create any more shows even though they were extremely popular.PsyKosisYes but for that tv show to go on another station. Some type od deal would have to be made with the creator. You can't just take a show and put it on your station.

It doesn't work that way, Nmoura works for SE, he does what SE tells him to do, there is no way around it. How hard is this to understand? SE is the publisher, the Publisher decides where a game goes, not the developer.
Why do I bother? Ok dude just keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better then go ahead.
