Here's the thing though. Carmack is still living in the early days of gaming and doesn't believe efforts should be spent on narrative. To him it’s all about the tech and programming and the game part of a game.

I would loooove to see Doom become what you pitched up there. But as long as Dino-Carmack is id. It's not going to happen.
