eeeh I think that one counts more as an game with sandbox levels. the open bits between levels I can't say count because...there isn't really a world there just grass and a boring horse ride.
And that kind of comes back to what I said in my other post the first Arkham game wasn't open world, but it wasn't exactly linier either it had enough openness to create the illusion that it wasn't simply a one way go. That's what I would like to see brought back into video games. So far the only one I have seen with it aside from Batman is Bioshock Infinite. It’s linier but creates the illusion of openness.
