We don't know anything about the situation really. Especially regarding the mental state of "Martin Riggs" at the time and his decision to shoot his intruder rather than alerting first. To scare the piss out of an intruder, all you need to do is let them know that they are in danger. The good ol'e "Cocking shotgun" scare tactic works every time. My father scared off a "would be" intruder that way. Poor fool should have tried for the Olympic running team.... Could have gave Usain Bolt a run for his money Imo.

Listen, intelligence is mostly based off of environmental factors anyway. And IQ tests are not a very substantial measurement of intelligence in this regard. I would hope that most of you know that the human brain is more complected then a simple test can measure.
