So, why is anyone surprised that this game would get boring fast? Procedural world, only few gigs of resource data, no real story or purpose... Like I said before, there is only so much exploration one can do before "you've seen it all." It's Elite Dangerous in pastel colors for PS4.
@Runeweaver: Yeah, well, back in 1993 there weren't that many great games. X-Wing was released, but it had a limited number of missions. A game like Frontier Elite 2 was quite refreshing.
This is 2016. Open-ended games are a plenty. Only hard-core sim fans play the bore-fest that is Elite Dangerous... a game similar to NMS.
What did people expect? It's a tiny studio, not Rockstar with 100s of artists. I commented after the previous story about the size of the world that this will be just like with Elite -- after 20-30 worlds, you'll all be bored to death.
And stop with this "size of the world" crap. It has nothing to do with how big the world is. We'll all be playing in the same space, but a different randomly generated instance. Hence, finding other players means that they have to magically stumble upon that same random combination... 1 out of 18 quintillion. You have better odds at hitting a lottery jackpot.
It's just like Diablo dungeons, which were also randomly generated.
@Foxhound71: And who made you the spokesperson of the "fanbase?" If their "fanbase" was truly unhappy, they wouldn't be buying those DLCs and Bethesda wouldn't be making more of them.
I am outraged! Outraged, I tell you! I spent my daddy's hard-earned dollars on this? Shame on you Bethesda! I will never buy any more of your games, unless my mommy buys me one.
