@PhilipO45 @DenverNick @SlawekAB That's just it though, the capability is already there with PC, they just need to release the hardware compatible to do it, and obviously, that part is moving fast. Once the new consoles are locked into what they are going to do, there is no improving for this generation and by the time those 10 years have passed and they are talking about the Xbox 1080 and PS5, PC will have moved further ahead. It's a neverending cycle, the consoles release and they are on par with an average gaming PC. Then PC moves forward while consoles become stale. By the time this new generation has passed, we will be way beyond 1080p.
@chocomatrix Funny, I just had this same conversation with someone else. You do realize that a lot of bigger games have HD texture packs released just for PC, right?

@PhilipO45 @SlawekAB PC gaming isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. On the decline, tell that to the 5,000,000 people logged into Steam right now. I've owned all consoles and enjoyed them, they are good for their exclusives. But nothing beats gaming on the PC and the selection of games available for PC gaming dwarfs Sony and MS combined. And 1080p may only matter to console gaming. Monitors have already surpassed that resolution and if a game is made to exceed it, you will already be able to on a PC. As mentioned in this article, there will be no support for 4K or any other UHDTV. This console generation will improve as most of the current gen only ran at 720p.
@fightingfish18 I don't think it was a matter of them being involved with it. The state offered them the money to relocate to their state which in turn brings jobs and additional spending being done in state. Look at it like sports free agency, you want to improve your team (the state of Rhode Island), so you spend money in free agency to bring in a player (38 studios) that you feel can bring new revenue to the table, maybe it works, maybe it doesn't. The article is saying that if it doesn't, the people of Rhode Island are stuck footing the bill.

@LingeringRegime I picked up this game, but have yet to open it because of what I am hearing about this. I rarely use a mic when playing games. This one looked fun so I bought it, but then started reading that you needed to communicate with others a lot. Meh, not interested in listening to crap. So, you're saying it's fun, even without communication?
Wait, I get it now, when he says 'artsy', he means the boring ass games that he makes. I can only tilt my controller back and forth controlling a flower petal for so long. And I'm not a hater, I own all 3 games that he has developed only to play them for a half hour and then watch them take up space on my PS3. Flow is somewhat entertaining at least.
