I love how for some reason, they still think turn based is the way to go. For gods sake, the last time I played a turn based game and enjoyed it was on my gameboy (never really cared for DS). If your gonna make turn based, make it mobile, but if your on the console, give me some depth to play with.
Agreed. Every gamer has to practically wade through a mountain of crappy and repetitive shooters just to find a game with some originality.
I found Dark Souls by word of mouth, which dumbfounded me being the community is amazing and the game just feels like a blast, but not a single person talked a lot about it because it was "hard" and people don't like it when you let go of their hand in video games.
Honestly, I think that once game companies stop thinking "oh release dates are top priority", then maybe for once the video game economy will flourish.
That will probably happen the day publishers are destroyed....so not soon.
Well, if consoles die, then all we have left is PC and mobile.
I'm Ok with this
Secretly though, I'm not 100% ok with this because I really really like the Ouya and I really really want to see it flourish so I can laugh as the xbox and playstation see what happens when a console actually cares about its damn customers over its money.
@registradus as amar said, I believe they are overpriced for what they offer. I do understand that next gen will go up in price, and even though I doubt the intelligence of sony and microsoft of using lower prices to make profits, consoles pushed their limit this generation and will more than likely suffer next generation for it.
As for where you find $10 games, I'm not sure. Most games i get run up near $20 for this gens games. Maybe last gen games are 10 or lower, but I rarely see a $10 game unless it was just that bad.
@okassar Okassar is right ya know. There has been an incline in the economy that will fix it over time.
At least thats what I thought till obamacare passed. Man if that crap goes into effect, we will see inflation, more unemployment (oh whats this, our company is required health insurance so I must pay for it? Guess I'll pink slip some more scrubs), and less efficiency in this country.
I can only hope they are lazy as all hell with obamacare like they are with the country itself.
@Briantb_2008 See, the funny part is, the devs will never drop it down that low. The only reason it gets that low is used sales, and then the devs get no money.
From Software made a smart move with Dark Souls after it was released. I'm still seeing new copies of black ops and even mw3 run for 50-60 bucks at gamestop, but dark souls dropped to 40 bucks and now 35 after about 4-8 months out. THe game is worth 60 to me because of how original it is, but who wouldn't try it if its simply new for 35-40 bucks. I honestly didn't realize I bought it new when I bought it, I thought it was a steal on a normally 60 dollar game.
If games learned how to price their crap correctly, maybe they would see profits for once. But then again...publishers don't know what lowering a price is.
Suck it Activision, EA, and THQ. Your worthless scumbag tactics are only losing you money now and I hope you all go down in flames. At least then your best devs can get a better start with better publishers, or even self publish.
As much as I hate COD...BlOps 2 has more of my attention then when they said "future" in the same sentence as "shooter"
Honestly, shooters belong in the future. This modern setting is crap. I don't want 20 different assault rifles that all do borderline the same thing and all are practically crappy compared to one in the category that everyone uses with a side of noob-tube. I like games with original guns where it takes a little bit more intelligence then aim and shoot in order to kill your foes.
