Oh hell, are they going nuts? Even to the extend of 'destroying' CDs and DVDs with a hint of violence? You might as well destroy every single entertainment medium then. We don't, nor need to live, in some kind of equilibrium-like world. That will never be attainable, because when people will try, they need to realize that they are actually giving up forms of art humans are so greatly capable of creating. If people claim they killed because of a movie or video game, they already had a sick mind to begin with. Murders happened well before video games and movies etc. even existed. Murders at present in the name of God or Allah DO happen so did they in insane amounts in the past. I don't see them ban holy scriptures or religion?
I'm definitely a reader. As a matter of fact, I regularly read the game manual of a newly bought game in the bathroom while doing my business. Is this weird?
@Sha88 Did you see what I wrote? I said that a gun is a murder weapon, making the person using it to kill a murderer. The user is essentially the driving force behind the efficiency of the weapon, after all, if he/she doesn't pull the trigger it won't do anything, but that doesn't mean that, ultimately, the gun isn't at fault. After all, the gun is doing the damage. What if the maniac didn't have access to a gun but only kitchen knife? The damage wouldn't be as extreme then, nor as difficult to stop. That's what I'm trying to point out, but it seems it doesn't quite ring a bell yet for you. The shooter is at fault, absolutely, but more so the gun regulations in America, that is enabling people with ill intentions. How many more massacres need to happen for it to change?
First and foremost the gun was the cause of that massacre, then came the idiotic and utterly insane person that chose to kill people with it. A gun is a murder weapon, not a weapon for defense. If you do use it at some point to defend yourself, the probability of killing the person you're shooting at is very high. So why burden yourself and others by having such a thing in your possession? People need to stop thinking they need a gun for self-defense, or this paranoid and violent cycle will never end. Games and whatever other media are never the cause.
I'm more of a mix. I like to watch cutscenes A LOT because it adds to the story, and a (good) story is always important to me. I also like to talk to NPC's, party members and/or love interests because it adds to the overall experience. I don't like to rush through things, but if it's an action game with little choice (there isn't much exploring to do etc.), then I will just rush through it regardless whether there are collectibles to be found, depending on my mood. I like to adventure and explore, so I adore RPG and adventure/action games. I do play action games though.
