Quoted from PC Gamer's 2007 PC Building Bible:

"Look no further than 32-bit. Why install the 32-bit version of Vista if you have the 64-bit processor? 64-bit Vista is simply not ready for prime time. Driver, utility, and shell extention (right click) support are still largely MIA."

Go with the 32-bit and save yourself some money.

3. The controller works great with some games, badly with others. It can also be aggravating to point the wii-mote at that receiver. I don't have a good place for the receiver so I end up having to hold the wii-mote up higher than is comfortable and it really detracts from my enjoyment of the game.

You can't stick the sensor bar on top of your TV?

I have it on top of the tv, but the tv is sitting on a tall stand and it's a big tv, so the sensor bar is high. I wish it had better range so I wouldn't have to hold the wii mote up the height of my neck to play.

Why do kids think they are entitled to everything they want and right now? It doesn't work that way. When you are out of school and working full time, and maybe even working hard overtime for the things you really want, then you are entitled to them. Your day will come, just like all the working adults who had to wait until they were out of school to get what they wanted. Until then, you're going to have to make the best of what you can get with a part time job, birthdays, and holidays.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but THIS is logical:

1. The PS3 is very expensive. FACT: This will deter a lot of people from buying it. Even some people who really want it, just because they can't afford it.

2. The Wii is a fad that will wear off once the novelty wears off. FACT: Standards in games are getting higher. People expect great gameplay AND great graphics now, because there are a lot of games out there that are showing people they can have their cake and eat it too. PLUS more people every day are buying HD tvs. The Wii does not support HD.

3. FACT: The Ps3 and Wii have very limited game libraries. That could change potentially, but that doesn't change the fact that that's where things stand right now. Nintendo has an uphill battle getting more 3rd party support, and the Ps3 is losing exclusives. They could turn things around but if the current trend continues these systems will continue to be expensive paperweights.

4. FACT: Nintendo's target audience is "non traditional gamers". Not the people who have supported them over the years or spend a lot of their money on games. Hardcore gamers, who buy several games a month, are where the money's at. Not some non-traditional gamer who might buy one game every six months.

5. FACT: Frequent, expensiveupgrades are required on PCs to keep up with the latest games' system requirements. It also takes some effort to figure out which games will work on your pc and which ones won't, while consoles are a no-brainer - if the game is for that system it WILL work.

6. The PS3 and Wii's online multiplayer services are not competitive with Live at this time.

Every gen I buy all the systems. I'm no fanboy. I want, love, and play on all of them. The PC too. But the fact of the matter is that the 360 is ahead right now. That doesn't mean the other systems are bad, it just means they have some issues they need to look at.

You left out one category:

Xbox360 AND Ps3 AND Wii and PC (owner of all) = true hardcore gamer.

Real gamers are not fanboys. They will have their favorite system, but they will want to play on them all.

I bought the Wii on launch day, and I only use it about once a month. I am not a fanboy of any one system, I buy all of them. I am a Wii owner who had faith in the product and camped out to buy it. These are the reasons I am very disappointed with it, in order of their importance:

1. Not HD compatible. Graphics look last-gen compared to the other systems, and it doesn't take advantage of my expensive HD tv. And believe me, after what I paid for that thing I want to take full advantage. What on earth were they thinking? So it's in my bedroom, where my non-hd tv is. And I generally prefer to play games in my living room.

2. Limited game library. Where are all the great games??? Yeah, I loved Rayman Raving Rabbids and Trauma Center... but the great games are way few and far between. Without great games, a game console is an expensive paperweight!

3. The controller works great with some games, badly with others. It can also be aggravating to point the wii-mote at that receiver. I don't have a good place for the receiver so I end up having to hold the wii-mote up higher than is comfortable and it really detracts from my enjoyment of the game.

The Wii is all right for a backup system when your other system is being used by someone else, on a non-hd tv. But if you've got an HD tv in your living room the Wii graphics are painfully last-gen.

Of course I'll use it. I already have a Live account for my Xbox360, which carries over to PC. And I have been very happy with the Live service so I have no intention of cancelling any time soon.
