[QUOTE="Dj-Dampleaf"][QUOTE="GreySeal9"]

Does it have the same charming cartoony characters and funny dialogue?

Cause if it does, improved combat would make me snap it up in an instant once I get another PS2.

GreySeal9

From what I played so far, the game has a very dark and serious tone, and tries to be more realistic mixed with mythical. so i would not expect anything funny or charming in this game. But hey, maybe Breath series has a habit of having random comic relief, I never played the others. Really liking the game so far, still waiting for it to kick in, might take some time. hopefully it won;t take 5 hours or more like most Jrpgs.

That's strange because BoF II is very colorful, cartoony and doesn't take itself very seriously. I'll still get it tho.

Yep, I believe I am near the end of the game. Bout to meet the emperor and the Yellow Guard Dog carried the party up to the Castle. If not the End, the climax leading to the end. Nothing charming or colorful for that matter in this game. Deep combat, dark theme, everything is serious, with a little comic relief and less serious sounding sountracks scattered, but limited. Games is fun though, and it makes it feel like an adventure. best jrpg I have played so far if I say so. still playing FFV and VI advance though.

You know games not Halo 1 or Morrowind and such. The Xbox had the second biggest exclusive library last gen or so i heard, so what are good exclusives for it? (Including DC ports since the DC died and was not competition to the XBOX.)

Would anyone be interested in something like this?

I figure the way it could work is that those that are interested could choose 4 games to "defend". Each night, the managers of their team of games would pick a game, and argue their case for that game as to why it is the greatest game of all-time. We have a poll set-up and thread where the managers, and voters could debate about why each game is or isn't the best game of all-time (or at least the best in that match-up). After 24-hours, the poll closes and a winner is declared. The game that loses is knocked out of the contest and the winning game goes on to the next round. This continues until 1 game or one manager's team of games survives. Naming the 2012 GameSpot Legacy Forum Greatest Game of All-Time.

What do you guys think? Would you guys enjoy something like this? Would you participate, and or vote? If this is something people are interested, I could elaborate on rules and such and set up. We're doing something like this on another board with comic characters, and I'm a manager of a team. If I set this up, though, I of course would not pick a team because that just wouldn't be fair.

Thoughts?

It sounds easily exploitable and a broken version of U.S. politics. I'd vote.

I need to play more Rpgs so I can get into these discussions. I have FFV and VI Advance if that means anything, playing them now. For SNES the only thing I got is Robotrek and another one I can't remember at the moment, it was an artistic Rpg, and everything was oddly colored and you choose your attacks with the D-pad instead of the B or A button.

The Adventure games were fun back then but they haven't aged well at all. Going back, they were not bad games but were inferior to Sonic 1, 2, 3&K and CD. Plus Adventure 2 had that stupid emerald pieces collection and those "tank" missions that were slow.

I lost interest in the series after Adventure 2 but I do want to get Sonic Colors and Generations because they look good and better then the Adventure games.

As for Sonic 3D Blast, the PC version was fun but the overall game felt slow and at times meh. The Genesis version is terrible.

Seabas989
Adventure 2 had Meteor Herd, my ears have been in pain ever since. Although I don't think SA is inferior to Sonic 3 which to me was pretty meh until fused with Knuckles. I can play SK by itself but I can't stand 3 by itself. I don't know why don't ask, i guess the stages were designed better. Good music to, best stand alone Sonic game 2D wise for me.

@Dj-Dampleaf Shadow and his clones are the "Ultimate life form" created by Professor Gerald Robotnik. The biolizard was a failed prototype. Ya him happening to look like a Sonic character is silly and unlikely but whatever. You still dont need to know this to play the game.

Metal Sonic became self aware. Thats not hard to figure out.

wildcat2000
You didn't actually read what I said did you? I was talking about Sonic heroes, the clones in Sonic Heroes were made by Eggman. Not SA2. Guess I'll have to make a more expansive long post next time. So i can provide more details so there are no mixups.

[QUOTE="Dj-Dampleaf"]well in the 3D Sonic games, the stories are usually out there, and at points without prior knowledge, they make no sense. (ending of Sonic heroes is a great example.) also I know you can get used to SA ark, but it's still badly designed and you can't always avoid some of the glitches and bugs that stage has, and of course, some places I have to wonder if they were snorting some puffy. Also, there's one more area of the ark that bring it to a low grade I forgot to mention and it goes something like this: "Don't let it hit ya Move, move, don't let it hit ya grove" you know where that song is from. My ears have never healed since then. wildcat2000

The end of Heroes revealed Metal Sonic was behind everything. They haven't used that plot since. I dont see how thats confusing.

I never had any glitches on the Ark except maybe you fall if you over shoot jumping from high rails which is more of a cheap death than glitch.

Yeah, how about Shadow, clones of Shadow, and the fact Shadow died and how STH did the right thing and forgot Sonic heroes existed? There are also numerous other unanswered questions. Like Metal Sonic in the first place being the main villain. There's tons of holes in Heroes, you never noticed any at all? Also Ark in SA is full of glitches reportetly and slowdown, although it is worse depending on which version you play DC or GC.

I also think the 360's lack of exclusives is a little embarrasing, but anybody who thinks the 360 is dying is smoking crack. Lots of crack.

I actually can see why MS is focusing FP on Kinect and H/G/F/FAB since it has the largest amount of exlucisve in number, by a lot, and so has a large backlog of games that people could still be playng. The Ps3 output is still trying to make up for 3 to 4 years of nothing and the Wii is the Wii.
