From what I played so far, the game has a very dark and serious tone, and tries to be more realistic mixed with mythical. so i would not expect anything funny or charming in this game. But hey, maybe Breath series has a habit of having random comic relief, I never played the others. Really liking the game so far, still waiting for it to kick in, might take some time. hopefully it won;t take 5 hours or more like most Jrpgs.[QUOTE="Dj-Dampleaf"][QUOTE="GreySeal9"]
Does it have the same charming cartoony characters and funny dialogue?
Cause if it does, improved combat would make me snap it up in an instant once I get another PS2.

That's strange because BoF II is very colorful, cartoony and doesn't take itself very seriously. I'll still get it tho.
Yep, I believe I am near the end of the game. Bout to meet the emperor and the Yellow Guard Dog carried the party up to the Castle. If not the End, the climax leading to the end. Nothing charming or colorful for that matter in this game. Deep combat, dark theme, everything is serious, with a little comic relief and less serious sounding sountracks scattered, but limited. Games is fun though, and it makes it feel like an adventure. best jrpg I have played so far if I say so. still playing FFV and VI advance though.
