Gamespot is making it sound like the five DLC packs were just announced only now, when Defiance had already announced them via a season pack at the game's release. this article has nothing ot do with the game at all newswise.

@grbolivar There's a difference between "connecting to the internet" and "ALWAYS being connected to the internet". The former is optional, meaning people who live in areas with spotty connections can connect sometimes, the latter screws those people over.

@diabolik_023 How are they vultures if they're asking for money owed? You think a developer like Codemasters, who worked on games for THQ, is not owed the money they deserve for making the game? It's the same as working in a store for several weeks but never getting paid, then people scream at YOU for being a "vulture".

@commando1992 Most likely a combination of the money from the recent auctions plus some sort of insurance.

@Roodogs What about games like Morrowind, which were on disc but also had expansion packs? If DLC is done right (i.e. the main game is actually completely done in the disc, and the DLC is new story/game content that doesnt HAVE to be played to enjoy the original game fully), then it's essentially a digital version of an expansion pack.

It's REALLY refreshing to come across a review that reviews the game on its own merits and is not comparing it to other games by Platinum. It's been annoying to come across reviews for this game that keep comparing it to bayonetta or other Platinum game simply because of the developer. I applaud you guys for not falling into that trap.

@rarson You're effectively proposing to punish backers for not investing early on with the investment cap, which is a terrible idea given there are a lot of projects which people find only late into the kickstarter campaign.

@weewalio You know what's funny? You literally used all of the most generic put-downs I've seen people use whenever they want to feel better than others and accuse others of following the crowd:

Sheep? Check.

Babies? Check.

Unthinking followers? Check

Lemmings? Check.

Seriously, if you're going to try insulting others because they personally believe things that don't accommodate to your opinion, I suggest not making the most generic "lol sheep" post I've ever seen. You acted far more like a sheep than than either Musalala or Koospetoors.

@sharpest1 And where is this "research" of yours? Because if you properly did the research, you would have known that it has always been intended to be a castlevania game, as Konami had made a contest between three different developing teams (one of them being IGA's team, the people who did the previous games) to see who can come up with a new spin on castlevania, and the Lords of Shadow crew won. Please don't pull information out of your ass.

@Nintendo_Man From how it's worded, Gelugon is correct: You purchase the game again, then get refunded whatever amount you had used in the preorder. That's why they say you download the game first (not possible without buying the game online iirc), THEN submit it in. It is still as if, from Blizzard's side, as if they're giving away free copies since they don't see a penny from GAME's preorder money, but unfortunately AU GAME consumers do have to temporarily pay double the cost for D3 before the refund kicks in.

That being said, I've heard nothing but good things regarding the quality of Blizzard's customer service, so I doubt that there will be many clerical errors
