That's because it connects to the internet during those black screens. If it can't connect it will keep on retrying for a long period of time.... poor programming really. If you disable wiiconnect24 it will never happen again.
I'm not sure about ds battery but I know for allot of other devices your suppose to use the battery right up before you charge it, or else it gets stuck (or burnt) in some kind of short cycle at the beging of the battery and cant use the whole length anymore. I heard this a long time ago maybe battery's are better now? Random__Guy
Lithium (newer) batties are the opposite... It's actually WORSE to fully drain them.

That is completely correct. Charge it only when its red otherwise it will wear out faster. The less charges the better. Charging the battery whenever especially when its unnecessary wears out the battery at a big rate. No it doesn't. 500 chages means 500 charge cycles. Example: 1 charge cycle = from flat to full OR from half to full + from half to full again. So if you used a 7th of you ds's battery every day for a week and charged it every night, that would be one charge cycle and thus only 1/500.
Well i just sold my psp so i can go buy a ps2..... Best decision ever if you ask me. The psp is not a handheld, it's a wannabe console. (Thats why i love my ds lite ^_^)
