Day 26 – The Most Difficult Game I've Played In The Last Five Years
Final Fantasy III

Yet another category with several contenders being the topic of other blogs in this challenge...but this one didn't take me too long to determine. Final Fantasy III in general isn't any more difficult than most in the series, but what makes it one of the most frustrating to play is everything it lacks. Most remakes these days spoil players with save points in dungeons that weren't present in the original...not FFIII. That's right, your only save points in the game is the world map...so, if you die in a dungeon, you get to start all over from the outside! Oh and pheniox downs are rare/limited treasures on this game too, meaning if you haven't learned any or lack the MP to perform revive spells, you have to sparingly use pheniox downs.
Last but the most important factor that makes this game the hardest FF I've played...combine the first two reasons, multiply the first by 3, make every enemy clones of every boss on the game, THEN add a final boss that only becomes fightable if you defeat 4 others immediately prior to facing it AND VALLA...you have the final dungeon! That's right...in the very end of FFIII, you have 3 different dungeons to fight through where every random encounter are mere pallette swaps of other bosses on the game, you then fight what was thought to be the main villian of the game just to get to the 3rd dungeon, and must defeat 4 more bosses just to have a fair fight against the final one...ALL of this with no save points and limited pheniox downs!!! How I got through this? I couldn't even tell you if I tried! All I can say is that it takes skill and patience my friend...lots and lots of skill and patience!
Sorry but there was just no short way to sum up why this game was so efing difficult for me
