The 30 Day Game Challenge - Day 7

Day 7 – A Game I Know the Most (If Not Everything) About

Final Fantasy Tactics

Final Fantasy Tactics

This is my favorite game of all time. I mean how could you not love a game that just randomly springs FFVII's Cloud into the story and into your party! I could go on and on all day telling you all why I love this game, but I'm not going to bore you with the details :P . There is hardly anything about FFT that I don't know about or have some indepth opinion of. This was my very first Final Fantasy that I played on a console and choose it at the recommendation of a late friend of mine. Playing it always reminds me of him...R.I.P. Dorian

Picked My 3DS Up Yesterday :)

Nintendo 3DS

I didn't really get a chance to play it until my lunch break today. Since I wasn't all that impressed with the launch titles, I'm just going to use it as my "DS" for right now. So far I'm really liking it. I only got to experience the 3D aspects from the set up menus but it still looks pretty cool. I popped in my Pokemon SoulSilver to see if Nintendo did the backwards compatibilty justice. The visuals will due but it didn't seem as vibrant as it does on a DS lite...and this was after I held Start and Select when booting the system up. Another thing that I'm liking so far is how you can put the system to sleep and it'll track how many steps you took that day (kind of like the pokewalker). I think you can redeem the points you get for the amount of steps you take for things in certain 3DS games.

Overall, I feel good about my purchase...well at least from the 30 minutes I got from toying around with it, lol.

Day 6 – A Game I'll Always Remember

Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger

The game that got me into the RPG genre! I had only played one RPG before this (Breath of Fire) and hated it because I didn't understand why I couldn't freely move around in battle (lol). So after growing up a little and kind of knowing what to expect from this type of game, I decided to give it a try in response to all the hype I was hearing about it. I LOVED THIS GAME! After playing it, I eventually ventured off into the Final Fantasy series and the rest is history...

Day 5 –The Most Memorable Game I've Played

Kirby's Adventure

Kirby's Adventure

Finally getting to play Kirby on a color tv screen wasn't the only reason this game was so memorable to me. Up to this point, I had never played a game that allowed me to copy the abilities of almost every enemy I came across on a game. I remember spending hours just going through levels, eating enemies just to find out what powers they rendered. It amazed me how Nintendo took an already amazing gameplay concept and expounded on it to make it even more awesome. This, on top of having a world map and an unexpected final boss!

Day 4 –The Most Emotional Game that I've Played in the Last 5 Years

Stranglehold

Stranglehold Boxshot

Unexpected pick, huh? There's nothing about this game that initially screams "drama", but anyone who has completed it's story may understand my reason for choosing it. All I can say without completely spoiling Stanglehold's plot is that it heavily revolves around Detective Tequila's family and the loyality/betrayal that goes on between each side.

Day 3 –A Game That Made Me Feel Good After Finishing It

Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters

Kid Icarus (GB)

Have you ever been stuck on a game? Well, imagine being stuck on one for 2 to 3 years of your childhood! I'll never forget the day I finally got passed the Minotaur's lair (1st world's boss) and seemingly blew passed the rest of the game. It was a HUGE victory for me

Day 2 –My least favorite game from last year

Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy XIII

I've had my least favorites in the in Final Fantasy series but never had a "worst" until I played this. All the bad things you may have heard about it are more than likely true and it has shaken my overall faith in Square Enix's ability to release any more quality RPGs.

Post a blog for each day on your gamespot home page

Rules:-

1. Try to restrict multiple game choices i.e. don't just pick one game of every day/category. If you can't think of a different game you've already chosen for a different day, fair enough.

2. Try to retain yourself for writing too much. Just the name of the game and a brief description of why you picked it is more than enough.

3. Don't be a douche! Respect other people's choices and opinions.

4. Only one entry a day.

5. Have fun!

What should I play next? (Multiple Choice)

So I just finished Resistance 2 (which was fairly good) and am trying to decide from 3 games which I should play next on my PS3. Here are the choices:

1. Red Dead Redemption: I have a lot a friends who have started playing this game and they have nothing but great things to say about it. I also took notice to it getting game of the year on here.

2. Demon's Souls: Another Gamespot game of the year winner. This is another one that I continue to hear good things about but constantly warned about the difficulty level.

3. Dante's Inferno: I love hack and slash games and this one looks pretty insane though I have seen may others complain that it loses its momentum the further you get. A friend of mine played through the game and loved it.

Red Dead and Demon's Souls seem like more of a timely investment which I have no problem with. So, any recommendations on which I should immeditately move on to and what order I should play these games?
