Another weekend have ended, I love my work (and have tons of it), but still, gaming is important too, after all, it helps you to keep out of the boring reality.

This time, a friend of mine lend me "Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater" in order to download some disguises, I did that, also I played the game, and managed to finish it in about 15 hours. Man that game was great, the story, the graphics, everything, why did it only got 8.5 on this page... I wonder...

I was lucky the last time I searched the web, I found "Final Fantasy 7" on the net, the original version, not the "greatest hits" version, man I can't still believe it, it was too cheap, and in great condition, let us hope that for Half Life for the PS2 I have the same luck.

I was able to find SOCOM II in the same place in an auction from 1 buck, I ended paying like 10 bucks, still too cheap, after all it was on my wish list cause everyone on GameFAQS told me to get that game (Even the people from the FFXI board told me that this game was better).

Let's hope that I can find Half Life, I liked the demo from the second game, so I wanted to see the 1st game, after all, its been said that the game was a total revolution, and I want to see why is that about (well, after seeing the demo from the second its kinda obvious tough).

A visit from the distant past

Well, today I was cleaning the big old closet and found my good old PlayStation among with some games in backup format (the kind that wont work with my PS2), so I decided to check them out, the closet would have to wait for a long time...

The games were Final Fantasy VII, Quake 2 and Chrono Cross, tough I could swear that there were more than that before, well whatever, it doesn't matter, I plugged the PSX to my tv set and started playing Quake 2.

Quake 2 might have been a good game and I may have had the will to finish it, but, there's one critical factor that kept me away from playing it for a long time, the music, it was Heavy metal the whole bloody time, thing that can be very tiring, that and the fact that my controller wasn't in top condition, thing that made my character strafe a lot, most of the time that wasn't desirable, especially when you're in the middle of a gunfight.

Final Fantasy 7, once again when I played it, I wanted to have the real thing, for the simple reason that I want it on my collection, now where can I find it?..., in any case, as many people may know, this game is considered to be the best game in the whole series, maybe for a couple of good reasons, tons of minigames, great story and cool characters, I just hope to find this game in a legal version

Chrono Cross was a good compeling game, but I won't enter into too much detail about this one, after all, I hated the music, specially the battle theme, after all the music its a critical factor for gameplay.

Right now, I'm trying to install the demo of Half Life 2, I heard that it was an incredible game, and I'm giving it a shot for the demo, hope that the game lives up to its reputation

Dusting and Playing

A helluva week finished and this gamer has found a new value to his games, specially from the PS2, here's the story.

Not much time after I've got the James bond game, I decided to test it online (among the Tiger Woods game since those are the only games I've got for online gaming), after the failure of getting the bridge I needed for the on line wireless conection, I decided to bring my PS2 closer to the router, some time later, my PS2 has finally born to the online gaming.

The first game I tried was "James Bond 007: everything or nothing", after all, I wanted to blow other's players brains out..., man how wrong I was, the only mode of on line games that the game has is cooperative, in other words boring on the short time, but still I played some time (more than 5 hours to be precise), the bad thing about the game was that I wasted most of the time waiting for people to log into any room.

In any case, it seems that EA its removing the server that services this game, so we will miss it tough........ right?

The second game on the list was my golf game (the "Tiger Woods" one), for my surprise, that game was quite fun to play on line, too bad that I've got wasted by the rest of the people since my golfer is too weak (at least compared to the rest of the world).

Now I just have to get good action games, specially competitive, after all, what can be funnier than blasting each other's brains on a virtual environment, right?

Online playing, just demos but still...

Well, another boring entry of my "boring" gaming life..., just kidding about that coment of my gaming life

My father gave me as a gift a game from my wish list, it would be "James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing", yet I wont be able to test it yet (even less, testing it online) for a while, since I'm too busy with my studies.

In any case, I'm not that busy to play online on my pc tough, but still, I can't afford good games (hey I got Starcraft in offer and I was unlucky enough to get it in spanish), so I decided to go for the cheaper options, download demos.

Cheap enough and tons of gameplay worth, at least thats the case with the demos of Unreal Tournament 2004 and Halo, man I've enjoyed those games a lot, and its good to see that my PC its good enough to run Halo properly (thing that just doesn't happen with an Internet cafe near my college), yet of course I've been able to test it for short time, once again, blame the studies (yeah right)

Now, I was ordered by a digitalized sarge to buy the bloody game (Halo), the good thing is that I want that game now, its quite a good one, I hope that the second one also come for PC

Back in college, testing new stuff

Well, all good stuff comes to an end, so are my vacations, but at least I love my career, not more than games that is...

Well, so far I'm testing this new connection gotten from my ISP, turned out to be a great, perfect for online gaming (I guess that the connection port that I wanted for my PS2 will have to wait though).

I decided to revive a legendary classic, and get a copy of Starcraft, the good stuff was that the package I bought contained the expansion, in other words, I found a value pack, for less than 20 bucks, but all that must have a down side, in this case, THE BLOODY GAME WAS IN SPANISH!!!!, needless to tell you how awful sounds that, at least some units have cool sayings tough.

Anyway I decided to test that game on battle net, once again, the connection went perfectly, but man, the people...

ROFL, LOL, PWNED, OWNED, and some other aberrations that I refuse to remember, were all that I could read on the IM on the game, man if anyone is reading this let me tell you this USE ENGLISH, NOT EVERYONE DOMINATES MORON!!!!

In any case, most of the time (for not saying all of), the people mops the floor with my poor units, whatever race they are, but I'm not giving up... for a while

Anyway, I decided to try another game, due my lack of money, I decided to download the demo of Unreal Tournament 2004 in order to just blow brains online, that was a great demo, probably I'll think of buying the game, but first I'm getting Counter Strike, I liked that game when I used to play it when I played it on a cafe near my college.

So far I'm giving my good reliable PS2 a break, at least until I got new games to play, I got to say that I'm officially bored of GTA3, that game can be very frustrating.

Happy new year

Well, a great year comes to an end, but it wont go without leaving a good trace of great games, after all games like Silent Hill 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, Halo 2 came to light, yet, so far I won't be able to get them in a lot of time.

Anyway, I got a trade with a friend some games, He borrowed me Grand Theft Auto 3, Final Fantasy X, Gran Turismo 3: A-specs, Soul Calibur 2

Those games were great, most of them are on my wish list, but now I've played them, they are most likely to get out, specially GTA 3, since the graphics were a great letdown, even tough, the game was fun to play... for a while

Soul Calibur 2 was a good fighting game, lots of characters and weapons to be unlocked, meaning lots of time to waste with the game, quite a master piece of a game.

Gran Turismo 3 surprised me with the graphics (yeah, I know the game is old and all that stuff, but still) and the game play was easy and fun, but is not entering on my wish list

The only game that I will be getting (in about a month) is Final Fantasy X, the storyline, graphics, sound and game play were amazing, a worth getting game.

So that's about it for now, many games played, good stuff saw, and a great year to say goodbye to, so I'll be posting soon, talk to you next time

Finally...

This bloody semester that was a mayor pain in the *** ended quite great, and finally those games I ordered came to my door, I guess that my contact should say "1 month delivery" instead of 2 weeks, but anyway, down to business.

I finally got my greedy hands on Silent Hill 3, the game has lived up to my expectations, and the main character (Heather) is just hilarious (rare in that kind of games), still the game gives me the creeps, plus the desire to keep playing it (thing that just didn't happen with SH2).

Either this week or the next I should clear out another game from my wish list (by buying it), I'm expecting to get Final Fantasy X or SOCOM 2, either one of them, mainly to change the stile of games that I own right now (if you notice my collection, almost all the games are in dark, cryptic stuff, with the only exception of that Tiger Woods game).

Awaiting for tomorrow to come (along with those games..)

Well almost a couple of weeks has passed, my contact was able to get SH3 along with Vagrant Story (that game got destroyed so I'm actually playing the game in a wrecked backup disk) but he has already warned me that: "The PSX game should take a couple of extra days, cause the game is hard to find", I was aware of that , but I wasn't aware that almost 10 working days had passed, so even the people of the place where I bought those games online reminded me to qualify the man who sold me the games, I won't do that, at least until the next friday.

Remember the games that I got from trading my cards?, Well, the thing is that I had already finish both, Even my partners at University asked me where I had found the time to finish the games, the answer is easy: THOSE GAMES ARE TOO SHORT!!!

SH2 was terribly easy with a guide I found at gamefaqs.com, and "Jak and Daxter" was the kind of games I hate to play, the kind of games that always keeps telling you "find X ammount of Y to proceed", in this case, was powercells and a lot of them, man it was so frustrating when I got to the end and the characters asking for even more bloody powercells!!, Man, I went for the last pieces of junk just for another "short" cutscene, I wont even touch that game anymore.

So far I got my PS2 with the modem, just getting covered in dust cause the only online game I have now is the "Tiger Woods" one, and my ISP is feeding my PC trough a USB cable (long story short, I cant use the modem cause it wont work), how cool is that huh?...

Online shopping and Card trading

Well, this time I made it, got a couple of games from my wish list, I found "Devil May Cry" for little money, too bad that I played that game on easy auto, allowing me to finish the game the very same day I bought it, what a drag don't you think?.

Some time later after that, I found a woman interested on my Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (yeah, I used to play that ****), and told me that her son was into that game, and offered me a couple of PS games, I agreed

I thought: "Whatever games I got should be OK as long as I get rid of those cards" so I got the cards, she showed me her games, I got amazed by the games, and she got amazed by the load of cards (Hey, they were more than 100 freaking cards), so we made the change, after all, we got what we wanted

I guess that you're wondering wich games she had (and now are in my posession), the games were:

- Jak and Daxter: the precursor legacy

- Silent Hill 2

I got thrilled specially by Silent Hill 2, after all, it was on my wish list, but I was wondering about that "Jak" game so I checked out the review on this page, the surprise was that the game was qualified with 8.8, quite good huh?

Now I'm waiting to my contact to send me Silent Hill 3, it should be in my hands in a couple of weeks
