I've had my xbox360 for like 2 months... but that wasn't really the point... the point is that ps3 is newer so therefor i should always beat or be better than the 360 anytime in looks and probably also in the works.." [EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read your post correctly at first. :)] Correct, that's the point I've raised here a number of times too. Last gen, the launch gap between the XBox and PS2 was bigger, with the XBox launching 18 MONTHS after the PS2, and yet XBox multi-format games looked better than the PS2 from day ONE. :| Everyone agrees now (although some fanboys denied it at the time) that the XBox was more powerful than the PS2, and that's why almost all multi-format games looked better on the XBox (better textures, better framerate, more polygons etc), even though the PS2 was available to devs 1 and a half years longer than the XBox. This gen, the multi-format games look as good as each other on the 360 and PS3, and sometimes slightly better on the 360 (a few times slightly better on the PS3). This shows the two consoles have similar power to each other, they are on par, and therefore as the XBox showed last gen, the difference between the multi-format versions has nothing to do with when the console were launched, it all depends on the power and memory of each console. :|
fiskefyren wrote: "i think people forget something here... xbox 360 had been on the marked for like 2-3 years before the ps3..." XBox 360 launched November 2005, PS3 launched November 2006 (delayed by up to 6 months). Perhaps I'm missing something, but I make that 1 year. ;)

It really comes down to personal opinion and how much you want the exclusive downloadable content later.
mcurling wrote: "Basically the xbox community seem like a bunch of kids, maybe because of the price tag of the xbox is affordable for kids and the ps3 is slightly out of pocket money range. I'll stick with the more mature community.." By showing a lack of maturity in your post....r-i-g-h-t. No really, it's one thing to give your views on the consoles and games, that's fine you're entitled to your opinion, and if you want to launch an attack on fanboys then go ahead, that's also fine (fanboys of ALL systems deserve to be attacked), however don't attack the of one system and act as if you think you're better than them. That's being childish, not mature. :|
sdkingsht wrote: "yet another reason that exclusives matter so much. i'm also willing to bet all these games used the 360 as their main development console." The PS3 was the main development console for Burnout Paradise (see my post below) and COD4 was developed for the 360 and PS3 by seperate teams at Infinity Ward, where they said they put their best programmers to work on the PS3 version. :|
revolutionary0 wrote: "My Final words are directed to sony, Why Only 256 system RAM, you should have put at least 512" Actually, the PS3 does have 512MB of RAM, 256MB XDR for code, 256MB DDR3 for video RAM. Anyway, as MKirby wrote, the 360 and PS3 are on par with each other. The devs agree with this view (only console exclusive devs would say different, for obvious reasons of course ;)). For example, in the comparison here, we have Burnout Paradise, a game produced by a developer who ALWAYS lead on Sony consoles, which is Criterion; http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=176610 "We've always led on the Sony platforms. Historically at Criterion we've always done that and we didn't want this year to be any different. We've always loved Sony machines and we've loved PS3 from the start, we think it's a fantastic machine. We felt very strongly about that." So, want to hear what these Sony leading developers who love the PS3 think of the 360 compared to the PS3? Well listen to podcast episode 15 "Invasion of the programmers" on the following link; http://www.criteriongames.com/podcast/archive/ Wasn't that interesting? :)
MKirby wrote: "This pretty much confirms what people were saying back when the PS3 and 360 specs were revealed before either was released: that they're basically the same. Sure, 360 falters in areas that the PS3 makes up for, but the PS3 falters in areas the 360 makes up for. Bottom line: both are great consoles with fantastic graphics. Fanboys: shut up and enjoy your consoles. No one cares about which one you think is superior." Agreed 100% Well said.
desialex wrote "@Dr_Yassam: I'm shocked that you don't believe it." Flops is a meaningless comparison desialex. If you were around at the time, you would have realised that the TFLOP arguement was debunked years ago! According to the TFLOPs, the GPU in the PS3 is twice as powerful as the GPU in the 360, and yet EVERY developer working on both consoles says the two GPUs are actually similar in terms of power. So much for the TFLOP arguement. Listen to that podcast and then tell me that the PS3 is twice as powerful as the 360 (better still, find a developer with experience of both consoles who thinks the PS3 is twice as powerful) ;) [Anyway... I've got to get some sleep now.....Zzzzz....]
