i saw a documentary once that basically said that on the sub atomic level, its possible for something to magically pop into existence and since the universe itself was once so small it was on the sub atomic level, it created itself and just popped into existence

It's all subjective. I think today's music and TV shows are just as good, if not better than in the 80's and 90's. Not everything, of course, but generally speaking.
