I played on Hard, spent an hour on life racking on the 3rd stage midway "boss" (where the green men come out), got to 30 lives, and managed to make it to the final stage with 15 left. But then the last stage kicked my ass. There's no way to beat that game. The first part of that stage and that Red Falcon head boss made me lose most of my remaining lives alone. There are so many of those maggot things on the screen and they all take more than one shot to kill and they keep coming even if you have the spread shot. Then all those little imps running around are ridiculous. Let me put it this way..you NEED MORE THAN 7 LIVES ON the last part. They expect you to beat 6 bosses with seven lives. That's only a life a boss basically. The Red Falcon heart has so many scorpions onscreen at once that it's impossible to avoid all of them. I'm sorry; I tried. I really did. I beat Easy, I beat Normal, I got to the final boss on Normal without continuing and without life-racking AND almost beat the final boss on my first continue. I've accomplished that. But as far as I'm concerned, you need at least 20 lives to beat that last boss run on Hard. So..I'll just play the Japanese version and level skip with 30 lives. I really tried but...I played that whole game and spent an hour life-racking for no reason. So I really tried so I don't just suck. There are just too damn many enemies and shots onscreen at once on Hard mode on that last section. I even figured out how to beat the 5th boss without much trouble. But..screw that last stage on Hard...

I enjoyed the game, I enjoyed the gameplay and I did accomplish the game. I can just beat Normal and then view the ending on YouTube. That's the same thing basically, except POSSIBLE. You see most people use the Game Genie to make it where they don't lose lives on that last level. Except the VC US version is the worst version because you can't even use Game Genie. Well I legitly beat Easy and Normal, and reached the exoskeleton of the final boss on Hard. So don't tell me I didn't accomplish squat because I did...

Okay my time read 6 hours but I wasn't playing that whole time. I just had the game on. Then of course it counts the time on the credits and everything...so...what I'll do is is play through the entire game and record my time (record when started and when finished) and record my ending lives and score as well. I won't waste time on any of those bonus stages so I'll just run underneath the bar on the goals.
