Microsoft failed because they made Xbox One a PC without any of the benefits PC and Steam actully has. Xbox One games had the same price, 24 hour offline mode was worse than Steam offline mode. Skype/TV/Voice remote/Web surfing was introduced as something new, but has been available on mobile phones and PC for years. Microsoft is so damn stupid for trying to pull this of. What is the point on buying consoles over PC`s when they go 100% digital? Sharing, trading and giving away our physical copies is the only power we have left on consoles.
Microsoft tried to make Xbox One into a PC without any of the benefits we are getting from Steam on PC.
What is the point on buying a console that is digital distribution when we have PC? Sharing, owning and selling our games is pretty much the only control we have left on consoles. We don`t have control over this on PC, but there are so much benefits.
I love consoles, but the day consoles go all digital, I will probably jump ship and become a PC gamer instead. PC is way ahead on digital distribution, yet far from perfect.
@Dexter-- The sharing is not returning. It useless PR talk. If Microsoft makes people believe that they might bring it back, more people might chose Xbox One, just to be left out in the dark again.
