Even tho there are still plenty of titles that I look foward to that are not coming this actual month, the excitement is there no doubt! Prime example, FOOTBALL! All the draft nonsense is aside finally and now the mini camps begin which is cool, even tho I still have a few more months before real football even kicks off. Seeing the new pics of Madden08 seems to be a welcoming sight as surprising as that may be coming from me. Player size and definition, things that use to annoy me in previous versions because the lack of, are looking MUCH better and that I believe may be due to the people at EA finally "trying" to make a complete game. Will they strike gold... I doubt it. But I do have faith that riches will be uncovered, and sadly... I might hitch on the money train just to see where it goes
The one football game I'm losing heart beats over to just see video at the least is ofcourse 2k8. It won't have the NFL backing which many think will be its down fall or its handicap, yet proof is in the pooding, so that one will be decided by the masses. There are tons of Madden fans out there, and with 08 looking and sounding better and better you can imagine there will be no merciful views to spare when 2k8 hits this summer. Hopefully the masses are not too stubborn in tryin something new and refreshing, especially is Madden and crew trip over their own shoe laces and not take advantage of the NFL exclusiveness. Honestly, last year Madden lost a major hunk of their audience by producing a sub-par game on next gen gear which could hamper any other game or franchise, but Madden still maintained a following. If they mess up again on 08 AND 2k8 steps up with gameplay features that Madden could be lacking... yea... proof is in the pooding.
Finally got to see gameplay footage of Kane and Lynch, and man o man am I stoked about that game. The person who was showing it off sucked @ss, but the game looked very enjoyable! For anyone who is looking for something dramatically new and different they will not find it in this game... bottom line. If I had to make a first impression assumption, the game basically looks like Hitman with squad mates. And I loved Hitman since day one, the controls, visuals, core gameplay, everything about that series has been very easy to pick up and play. Now with K&L, you have a story following two guys and gameplay will emphasize on co-op action. Hitman was a fun solo experience, but the game could have been so much more if there was another friend option... and now that option has blossumed. Beyond that, you get a little online action and split screen going on and BAM! the game wins over the audience they seem to be going for, no complaints from me.
Spider-Man3 is finally here on the big screen and available for the smaller one, and the reviews and opinions are out and web slinging about. I had spidey on reserve at my favorite game shop, but after taking it off I wondered if the game was still worth getting. I loved spiderman2 the movie and the game was simply awesome, so I decided that depending on how good spiderman3 was it would be the mighty factor in whether I get the game or not. So I saw the movie... and... well... :|
it could have been much better.
In no way will I knock on one of the most anticipated movies EVER, but for any fan of Sam Raimi, the director who once stood on glory mountain with Evil Dead under his belt, he really took a "softer" approach to his 3rd installment of the web head. It may be for the children, or the DVD version may have hours of extra footage that they couldn't use due to ratings or time, I'm just saying that Evil Dead gave me nightmares... then Army of Darkness (the 3rd movie) provoked chuckles. Is this a Raimi trend? Did they cram all they could in this movie because it IS the final one? Did I see more cryin scenes than even LotR?! I'll leave it be... the movie was enjoyable, but had so many more directions it could have taken, and now I question if the game is even worth it. Maybe a few more trips to the show will convince me I'm just being picky...
