level 13...?!

Seriously, I try my best to not complain about the little things, especially the ones that don't really matter much. But there is always that one thing, the itty bitty detail that creeps under yer skin and gets one wondering... WTF!!
I've been on this site for a good minute and noticed the level up system is kind of wacky. I imagine numerous forums were started and plenty of the questions that revolve around this very subject have been brought up, but due to my lazy whiney nature... I can't quite figure out how I'm so low level on a server that I've been trafficing since damn near day one of its conception :?

Maybe its the groups yer apart of that form the community, or possibly the things that you do within yer profile that earns icons of nerdom. Whatever it may be... I'm kind of sour that I've been missing out  Oh well, I won't make it into some greek tragedy, I say on with the videogames and less with the online nonsense. Ignore the fact that I'm writing this if yer wondering why yer reading this (especially you dre)
Something that DOES really bother me and deserves complaint... paparazzi!! Those scum bag mofo's need to be struck by thunder every once in awhile so they can remember they what being human is like. Even tho I understand once stardom is accomplished you should expect adoring followers, but there is a big clear difference between taking a random picture and hounding someone all day until they flip out on you. Some people I tell ya...

Heroes

So imagine that, me... the guy who hears a song a year old and brags about it being the newest thing I've heard. I watch some movie thats been out since the early 90's and I spread the word like its the coming of christ. Never really been the one on the up and up I suppose, but then again I do have my moments.
Another prime example of my silly ways coming full circle into one big fat smack in my face is this show that people been talking about since day one... Heroes. The concept alone was something that appealed to me when I first heard about it, but I never really sat down and gave it a shot. And thanks to the sci-fi channel they had an all day marathon playing and man o man its been interesting. I had to work this morning, but I've been catching bits here and there... and then there was Halo3

I need practice! Not only was I getting served in a major way, but the buttons and movement just felt odd. Not a complaint, but more of a critical observation since all I was doing was being a moving target. Halo2 was silly how characters felt like they were on ice skates or using certain weapons just didn't seem fair when surrounded by possible victims, plasma sword anyone? Not like I didn't enjoy the online experience Halo2 offered, but I could hold my own in that game, especially during death matches. Now in the new beta, I go from room to room until I find a good group of players and from there everything went downhill. And I do mean downhill.
The worst part is its not like I was sucking that bad, I just couldn't keep up with players who were snipin me without scoping, clubbin me for instant death after I bash them 2 or 3 times and even worse of all there is only 3 levels to be familiar with and I looked like a lost tourist. These dudes knew the nooks, acquired the weapons and watched me walk right into their sights. Then again, back when I ran my own server for Halo2, I played without radar AND from time to time turned shields off. You can only imagine how people who randomly showed up felt about that... they hated me!! Not like I cared, cause players who were just good were GOOD! It was a simple premise and it made all who played even better. I hate to take so much credit, but I made some good friends during those Halo days.
Now zap back to the present and picture me struggling to drill bullet after bullet into dill weeds who not only talk heavy sh!t, but they dance around with their stupid shields and clean up with assist kills and sloppy grenades... not impressed. Oh well, some people just sit around waiting for the next new thing to come along so they can milk it for every ounce and then surprisingly diss on it as it they been there, done that. Me, I get wind of it a few days late and people already got rank in the damn thing... LAME!!

My b-ball team sucks, TV is my friend today, chicken is pretty awesome, and I choose solo mode tonight over being social. Something tells me the playoffs are gonna suck @ss from here on out but I still got faith the Cavs can manage. To hell wit the stinking Spurs and power to my cause for some Halo3 come Sunday. I just need a little extra sleep tonight...

I'll drink to that!!

Man, why did I ever stop playing sports?! I could say something clever like it was videogames, girls, the wrong crowds, substance abuse, fear, envy, even the lame'est one possible... I had better things to do. All false I say, I just stopped one day... then all those other things came into picture.
I just got done watching one of the best come backs I've seen in some time between PHX and the Spurs and it was quite a doozy. Not only am I rooting for PHX who I feel deserves a chance at the big game, but I don't really care for the Spurs who I think are a bunch of sissies. Not very gentleman like of me to be so petty, especially since I play the role of spectator, but can you blame me?! They had their glory, now they fight for another chance and I do mean fight. These boys are known for being drama queens, flopping on silly calls, playing the refs lack of attention, abusing lame rules, and did I mention they tend to play a tad bit dirty? Yea, compared to a team that hussles and has a quality squad who earns their respects thanks to a kick @ss coach and fast paced gameplan... move over San Antonio... yer old news.

Well I'm nearing the demolition of my 12 pack, and since it was just me enjoying the great games tonight thanks to lame friends who prefer to tweak on Halo rather than crack open a few and watch some sports... I don't mind the generic loser title this time. Shameful... never that, I just have to decide if I want a new game later this week or another 12 pack. I could say the smooth operator has a chance at taking a new girly out this weekend to see 28 Weeks Later, but she's still pretty new and I'm not sure if spending money on anyone other than me is in my best interest right now. It could win me some major browny points, but I'll call her and see how that goes... maybe lunch would be better. Besides, there isn't even any games right now that I can even fake to be excited about. I do have good stuff within my library just sitting there waiting for me to cheerish, yet some how that strange feeling of wanting something new gots me in one nasty grip. In a few months, its ON! But in the mean time, I think a few sit downs with old goodies and some quality reviews would be best.
With all my new work oppertunities lately it almost feels like things are falling into some magical placing that I can't fight... even tho I'm tryin. :? Maybe some extra cash and a call to Gamefly will set me straight. I used their service for a few months before they started doing all the cheesy commericals, and one day I just started buying all my stuff again. Not the most hardcore collector, but I do like to own my stuff, never borrow. Hopefully by this summer when wish list items creep closer to release I'll have stuff figured out.

In the mean time, if anyone ever passes thru here you should check this dude out, ISOTONIIK

yer slippin homie...

So not only have I been away from my 360 achievement gaming, but I did something today playing a game of 2k5 football with my friend... I lost my cool.
Not like a sports game that deals in heavy competition isn't gonna get mofo's heated at eachother, but I really snapped as if I was some losing coach stomping around a ref looking for a reason to get ejected from the field. Not my proudest moment, definently not a snap shot of something I want to leave with my friend... but I like to think he understands. We platy the hell out of that game and sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. There has been times where words are exchanged that are far from friendly, but its all in good taste once the game is over. There were a few times when I saw him get pretty pissed with me cause I ran some awesome play or something with his defense failing in a clutch situation... but for ME to go beserk... the world must be coming to an end or something.

No doubt I'm pretty embarassed, especially since I didn't say anything besides "F you, good game". Not very slick, but I was hurting after one tough loss before hand and then another game where I was basically blew out. Seems like I have that kind of luck... one minute I'm whoopin him and he can't find any way to phase me, then the next nothing works for me. Not only was my defense just stupid, but my offense couldn't buy a break. It was a mighty sad display cause I was honestly doing everything right, just things were not connecting and thats the most frusterating part of it all! It was like playing Madden all over again... and some how this @ss was capitalizing off it with no shame. I can't blame him entirely cause back when he didn't even play sports games he noticed how much I loved 2k football and joined along. I had no problem schooling him back then, but after the years we continued to play together and he got better. I would share advice, look over replays, help organize rosters... it was like mentor and apprentice action at its best.
Kind of cheesy looking back at it in such a dreamy way, but realizing that we play the poop out of a game that is years old and no longer allowed to use the NFL license... it gets me smiling

All bs aside, I'm hoping to speak with him again before the weekend wraps up. Not like I wanna beg for forgiveness or anything more lame than what I've already displayed, because I'm gonna hear about my silly tantrum for some time whether I like it or not. Hopefully I can share a beer with him and maybe avenge my honor in another game... if not... to hell with him! The lil punk was lucky I had a team that ran a defense that doesn't fit to my gameplan, so everything I was doing on that end was a struggle. And his offense...? ppffff... you might as well play Madden if yer gonna air up 60 yard passes down the field and hope that yer computer makes the grab. The idea of losing is something I can live with, it makes me stronger and better. But to lose to someone due to game exploits... shame on them!! The lack of trash talk as I ranted about the crap that was going on only proves that I wasn't all sissy whiner. Oh well. Just like those games where you try to solve a puzzle doing too much and the simplest thing is key to victory... yea, thats how you beat my friend at football. Keep it simple, work them basics and show him who's the master. ;)

Shin Chin... like whoa!

I'm a big adult swim fan and ever since cartoon network really took off, I've been watching since. Everyone knows about the usual suspects such as family guy, futurama, and some of the newbies and small shows that came and gone had their time... whats next?!
ShinChin?! :o Man, the japanese have their way with producing some strange stuff, thats a given. But add some good ol' American spunk on top for voice over work and you got yourself one whacky show about a small family living in a studio apartment surrounded by other nut jobs. AWESOME!!

I was really planning on making tonight a gaming evening with a little CS or 360 action, but I ended up at my friends place and like always being the lazy slug that I be, the internet has consumed me. No youtube madness, oh no... just pure gametrailers.com and gamespot content baby! I would say its the shame that humors me, but thanks to a bag of cheetos and robot chicken playing in the background, all is grand. Still debating on the gamefly thing simply cause I want to have something new, but spidey3 is all that comes to mind next to older titles I wouldn't mind checking out on 360... for achievements ofcourse  Most of the stuff that is coming in the next few months is stuff I see myself buying, but then again I might as well milk the free trial deal while I can before I do end up going broke shoppin like I got money.

mmmmmmmmm.... money sounds pretty awesome... what would I do if I had mounds of money right now

go PHX!!

So things have been on the up and up. Nothing to really complain about today besides the lack of gaming I've been up to lately, which is not all shame due to the awesome weather thats been quietly strolling in. Sunny days can really change some habits I suppose... if anything, I do plan on knocking out a few achievements on some old games of mine on the 360 before I plan on moving on to any real new games. Will that stop me from getting anything new, ofcourse not, but the thought is assuring in its own lil way :P
Hopefully, my urge to get back into gamefly won't nip me in the butt cause there isn't really much out there right now that seems worth buying and I'd hate to end up with another Crackdown kind of game. Not saying it was worthless, it just sucks holding onto a game that I've long ago conquered in hopes to play a sample of another game that I will eventually own. Sad lil me... yet the nerd conquest continues, cause I hear the Halo3 jazz should be going down some time soon this month. That shold keep me busy for a few days. That is if I'm not working like a dog by then. I got some job offers that I'm really hoping I can get in my favor cause not only will that bring in the cash flow again, but it will give me something a lot more productive to do rather than whine over what achievements I got and such on my stupid 360. Speaking of which, I've noticed that my system is a lot more loud than others... reading disc sounds like a mini mower starting up and for anyone over to join in on the gaming adventures that ends up more embarassing than humorous.

All bs naggin aside, how bout them PHX SUNS!!

Wow I say. Nothing pleases me more than to see someone hand San Antonio's butt to them on a silver platter... call me a crazy fan of a team that is far from home, but those guys play ball like how I would want to play in a game, on court, or even coach. Not only is it exciting to watch, but it puts other teams to the test and thats what good competition is all about. The real chore now is if they can keep tempo...

Geeking out on the net tonight I feel like I should be in bed tryin to fall asleep to a movie, yet I'm just so caught up in so many random thoughts right now I can't really sit still. Even tho I'm just sittin here at my pc and pacing around my room ocassionally to stretch the legs, the brain feels like its going top speed. Maybe I'll crash when the sun starts to really shine, seems to be the routine. In the mean time, I'm gonna read up on a few games like Fracture and Cell Factor and see if I can find anything worth while about them. My patience for something super new and fun is driving me mad, but the calendar seems to be less and less torture'some as I notice the days to 2k8 football are nearing... JOOOOYY!!

Helloooo MAY!

Even tho there are still plenty of titles that I look foward to that are not coming this actual month, the excitement is there no doubt! Prime example, FOOTBALL! All the draft nonsense is aside finally and now the mini camps begin which is cool, even tho I still have a few more months before real football even kicks off. Seeing the new pics of Madden08 seems to be a welcoming sight as surprising as that may be coming from me. Player size and definition, things that use to annoy me in previous versions because the lack of, are looking MUCH better and that I believe may be due to the people at EA finally "trying" to make a complete game. Will they strike gold... I doubt it. But I do have faith that riches will be uncovered, and sadly... I might hitch on the money train just to see where it goes

The one football game I'm losing heart beats over to just see video at the least is ofcourse 2k8. It won't have the NFL backing which many think will be its down fall or its handicap, yet proof is in the pooding, so that one will be decided by the masses. There are tons of Madden fans out there, and with 08 looking and sounding better and better you can imagine there will be no merciful views to spare when 2k8 hits this summer. Hopefully the masses are not too stubborn in tryin something new and refreshing, especially is Madden and crew trip over their own shoe laces and not take advantage of the NFL exclusiveness. Honestly, last year Madden lost a major hunk of their audience by producing a sub-par game on next gen gear which could hamper any other game or franchise, but Madden still maintained a following. If they mess up again on 08 AND 2k8 steps up with gameplay features that Madden could be lacking... yea... proof is in the pooding.

Finally got to see gameplay footage of Kane and Lynch, and man o man am I stoked about that game. The person who was showing it off sucked @ss, but the game looked very enjoyable! For anyone who is looking for something dramatically new and different they will not find it in this game... bottom line. If I had to make a first impression assumption, the game basically looks like Hitman with squad mates. And I loved Hitman since day one, the controls, visuals, core gameplay, everything about that series has been very easy to pick up and play. Now with K&L, you have a story following two guys and gameplay will emphasize on co-op action. Hitman was a fun solo experience, but the game could have been so much more if there was another friend option... and now that option has blossumed. Beyond that, you get a little online action and split screen going on and BAM! the game wins over the audience they seem to be going for, no complaints from me.

Spider-Man3 is finally here on the big screen and available for the smaller one, and the reviews and opinions are out and web slinging about. I had spidey on reserve at my favorite game shop, but after taking it off I wondered if the game was still worth getting. I loved spiderman2 the movie and the game was simply awesome, so I decided that depending on how good spiderman3 was it would be the mighty factor in whether I get the game or not. So I saw the movie... and... well... :|
it could have been much better.
In no way will I knock on one of the most anticipated movies EVER, but for any fan of Sam Raimi, the director who once stood on glory mountain with Evil Dead under his belt, he really took a "softer" approach to his 3rd installment of the web head. It may be for the children, or the DVD version may have hours of extra footage that they couldn't use due to ratings or time, I'm just saying that Evil Dead gave me nightmares... then Army of Darkness (the 3rd movie) provoked chuckles. Is this a Raimi trend? Did they cram all they could in this movie because it IS the final one? Did I see more cryin scenes than even LotR?! I'll leave it be... the movie was enjoyable, but had so many more directions it could have taken, and now I question if the game is even worth it. Maybe a few more trips to the show will convince me I'm just being picky...

Madden Nation... wow!!

So welcome to America, home of the free and brave. All noble and honorable and a bunch of other crap that most people who visit here most likely think is a joke. This ia place where you can find a fast food joint around the corner and feed the whole family for under 30 bucks then head around the other corner and spend what cash is left at the **** bar. Good ol' greatness fresh out of the bottle when you really think about it.
With that thought in yer mind, catch wind of this and tell me what you think... I can win 100k simply for playing a game made for space monkeys

*applause*

yes yes... you may be in awe or just plain salty. Bottom line is this is America where its cool to be stupid, crime is a sign of power, fear is instilled by the fearful, and Madden Nation credits fools OUTRAGEOUS amounts of cash for simply playing their garbage football videogame. :|
Not only does this blow my mind, but they actual air this on television which really caught my attention. Not only did I watch the spectacle, but I kind of enjoyed it. The whole layout of the show is pretty good from a production stand point and as a competition its well put together for some great moments every bout needs. BUT! Where do they get off making the prize money such a lavish amount?! Not saying winning 1st place in something should merit a cup of milk and a big yum yum cookie, but to be the best you have to really impress me. Recent NFL and NBA champs have had it kind of easy in my opinion. The road there was hard fought no doubt, but to hold that trophy is a moment of pride no one should try to take away. And I won't and I can't even if I tried.

All I have to really say about this whole Madden universe is its one joke that I don't find myself laughing at. And I like pretty bad humor. Shame on EA or whatever fool for who thought of giving away a mass amount of money for playing a game that glorifies people for pressing buttons. Maybe spend that money on something like the hungry children or the unable mothers of our dear knocked up country. Even better... maybe use that money to make a better game you jerks!

where's the HEAT?!

So the last year champs of the NBA just bent over for a very embarassing moment. They not only were swept in 4 games against my boys from Chicago, thanks to Ben Wallace, but they also spent the last 3 minutes of their big chance to stay alive sluggin across the court in complete submission. What a shame!
Being the champ is not easy I imagine, but having weak composure must be even tougher. The Heat have always had this problem and people always thought I was trippin for tryin to call them out on it. When they win they get hot, cocky, excited, they actually play to win. As soon as the competition gets a lil rough or some easy plays don't fall thru for them they begin to whine and fuss. Even worse such negativity begins to show in their game and thats something any team or spectator can see. In no way will I have the gull to take away from them what they earned, but their time came and gone... and I would be a real jerk and say suck it up and go home, but they lost at home!!

Besides looking foward to the next series between Detroit and Chicago, I'm loving what I see right now between Phoniex and LA. That boy Stevey Nash is one bad mofo and if they lose to these bums its sadly gonna be blamed on Nash. He's so good in everything he does I feel like a team leader has to carry his team no matter how much their sucking @ss. Which at this moment is a LOT! Unless the rest of the Suns decide to play awesome on a consistant basis, Nash is allo they got if they make it further into the playoffs. What a shame!

Speaking of things that bother me, how about those people at EA. No doubt they are doing a job and most likely tryin their best to create fun and innovative games, but where did Madden go wrong?! Was it when they made the game with simpletons in mind, or maybe they just felt like making a few extra bucks off of old crap and sell it as new with the hope that new projects could blossum. Who knows. I'm just extremely curious in what the new cover boy Vince Young's season is gonna look like with that curse thing looming over him. To hear one player refuse the offer is kinda funny but to see what the Titans did during the offseason and during the draft... yea... that boy VY better be extra careful.

WoW!!!

In no way was I looking foward to saying anymore about it, but achievement points in Xbox360 is one wild subject that can't be over looked. With such a lame statement I should just simply shoosh about the whole thing but as always there is something that nips me pretty good and gets me all riled up and this time its totally legit... for example, a popular xbox magazine just came out for its regular monthly release and it had the most gut wretching, back breaking, smack yo momma in the face article about how to gain 10k gamer points within 30 hours. :?
I know for my own respect I feel very strongly about how I play games that I like and spend good money on, so to see a article about how you can skip all the grind and play certain games to gain easy points just sickens me. Not only does the article list all the games that you could play for easy achievements, but they also speak briefly about exploits and just how much time it would take exactly to do so. YUCK!!

I'll leave it at that.

I've said more than enough about gamer points, but I can't help but admit there are a few games I'd like to scoop up or sit down and play thru to increase my shame -- or I mean respect 8)
Some games are not worth going back to play which I'll refrain from naming, but others are ones that just have achievements that are too tough for my blood. Not calling it quits, but there are a few that just require too much time I just don't have time for right now. No tears, cause as soon as I get some extra cash I plan on gettin PREY and Condemed which no matter how old you may think these games are... I have no problem doing my FPS thang late in the show. Besides... I hear the achievements are pretty easy.
